Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Shaz51
I'm good but sleepy. I've slept a lot of today but I'm ready for more.

@TAB
I'll get up for a bit and see you in the Beer Garden but I reckon I'll be cracking out πŸ’€πŸ’€ very shortly. πŸŽΆπŸ’•πŸŽΆ

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hey @Former-Member.... Heart

Glad it wasn't serious, but definitely good to get him checked out. Also glad that they aren't too anxious about seeing their dad.. I hope you (& them) are somehow working through the trauma...

The meal was delicious - my partner said it was missing something, but I added cracked pepper & I thought it was amazing.... I had two plates! As I said I eat the most at dinner time! I did suggest maybe next time some white wine in the sauce - we don't drink alcohol, so we never have it for cooking - but it is really good in pasta - red for spaghetti bog too, so we should get some sometime, haha - a bit of a pain, as you have to search for a vegan wine as most are filtered with eggs or fish guts... seriously!

Yes, I hope the pain eases... I went to yoga yesterday & it was good for me mentally & for the tension in my body due to high anxiety, but it made the tooth pain worse - I don't know if I should try again tomorrow.... I don't want to do hot yoga until it is ALL fine - hot yoga is on Sundays & Tuesdays..

Sorry I took so long to reply - I was in a small food coma, haha & just chillin a bit watching bad tv....

You dentist sounds wonderful @Shimmer - sorry it changed for you too - but it is nice to know I'm not alone in that... a dentist using mindfulness techniques is amazing...

Oh, my partner said he didn't put the tofu in!

Now, I'll try to read back what I have missed...

Ahimsa - Namaste,

Anna

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

It's about the only way I can survive @Shimmer. My job is long hours and fast paced. I do get tired but it also means I sleep well.

I'll cook up a Tamil Tumeric Chicken curry and a couple of others.

Please excuse me. Sleep calls and is becoming insistent. Night all πŸŽΆπŸ’•πŸŽΆ

G' Nite @Kurra

@Former-Member Thanks for good wishes and remembering.

I thought of you as I was doing my walking through the city yesterday.  I decided to speed browse, catch up on all the fashions I have missed out in not going to a mall for a few years lol .. had fun .. not feeling the least bit tempted .. happy with what I have, happy with walking and a slightly different view than the usual.

I also like that the word ahimsa .. is not so different from the english .. so it makes it easier to remember.

There are many things to juggle with that precept .. I took it very seriously .. but we also need to be kind to ourselves.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks Shimmer for your kind words. Had a pretty fair week and a good Melbourne Cup Day. Some days are better than others but we can all relate to this scenario. Do hope you have had a good week and enjoying the Friday Night Feast. Have a really nice weekend Shimmer and good times in the week ahead. Best wishes to you and yours. Bimby2.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Appleblossom -Yes, it definitely includes being kind to yourself - that is how my favorite yoga instructor introduced the term to me - a long time ago, but it is really important to me now... I really find it hard to be kind to myself - although I think I may be improving gradually - very slowly - It is much easier to be kind to others & animals.

Gosh, I actually like new clothes, but can't afford many - I buy quality over quantity - although I can't always buy extreme quality - cotton on is really good for cheap clothes & about half of them turn out to be good & the other half wear out too quickly - I accidentally discovered a site - shop ethical - when I was googling if a certain product was vegan - brands are graded a,b,c,d,f - I decided I'm not buying d or f if possible. Maybe I care too much or maybe more people need to care? I know I am highly sensitive & I really care about a lot of issues...

Why did you think of me? I do try to live a minimalist life, some of it is out of necessity though - oh I've been put on the "very high need" housing commission list...

Walking is good....

I had a soy yoghurt for desert & now I'm going to have a kiwifruit...

I'm exhausted but too anxious to sleep yet....

Anna

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Looking at leathergoods and talking about the stand of vegans with 2 of the shop owners. Because I used to ride, leather jacket and boots and bags were a thing .. I usually go for quality too .. but not really in fashion ..

The salespeople were trying to be decent about it, and said that the leather was sourced that nothing would be killed for the product, as they would already be used for food, but I thought of you and keeping the conversation going. Thats all. I clearly decided no more leather bags or jackets .. only shoes. Wont need any more for ages .. I recycle, repair.

I am not going Vegan .. I am happy with my approach .. but still there is no need to buy items that can easily be sourced in other ways without harm.

I also buy quality .. from op shops. It is amazing how many new things are not well made.

It's that time of the week again

Happy Friday!

Tonight we are having a chicken and cashew nut stirfry. I feel like I haven't had enough veggies lately, so I figure I can just throw eveything into a stirfry πŸ™‚

What's everyone having tonight?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @NikNik

that looks yum!!!  We had beef, zucchini and beetroot burgers.  They were so nice.
