Ok, sure thing. I have to, or it would melt in my place @tyme

It's way to hot.

C’mon guys let’s reignite this thread. I need more recipe ideas.

Tangy Lime Sauce

Make a large quantity of white sauce by combining a roux of equal quantities plain flour and butter. Cook off a bit and whisk in small amounts of cold milk at a time until you reach a nice consistency. Add in 300mls of fresh lime juice and a large amount of dried dill (it must be dried dill, fresh dill doesn’t work). Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.

We usually make spicy chicken nuggets to go with this.

Re: The SANE kitchen

Oh by the way you can freeze the lime sauce if you have too much or it can be used over several days

Re: The SANE kitchen

This is called the what we had in pantry tacos - not tacos because they aren’t Mexican recipe.

You will need
- small wraps or tortillas, soft tacos etc
- corn (we used tinned)
-cos/gem lettuce, don’t use iceberg
- cherry toms
- capers (optional, I know it’s not a staple for most)
- parmasen cheese
- spring onion
- avocado

For the dressing
- sour cream
+ anything else to mix in, we used crispy chilli oil and lemon, which turned out yum. You could use garlic, dill, anything really.

Prepare all of the ingredients as you would a salad (I finely chopped the lettuce).
We used the last of our Hass avos which would be better as they are just a bit creamier
Char the corn on the stove top in a pan. We added Mexican spice to the corn as it as charring.
Also brown the tortillas on the stove in pan as well.

Mix it all up like a salad, then divide onto wraps. Add the sour cream dressing on top.

Our sour cream dressing had a touch of lemon, crispy chilli oil, cayenne (I think?) and a touch of salt

Re: The SANE kitchen

That white sauce sounds nice! Will the lime juice curdle the sauce @Oaktree ?

Re: The SANE kitchen

No amazingly it doesn’t curdle the sauce @tyme , just whisk it in

Re: The SANE kitchen

Knowing me, I reckon mine will turn into lumpy sauce lol @Oaktree  I don't think I'm going to attempt that one.
