Goodmorning guys hope everyone had a ok new years eve and then New Year yesterday
I slept on and off yesterday had bad migraines which I just couldn't get to go.
I had a good New Year my only friend invited me out with her and her new boyfriend I just find it awkward sometimes now when we go out with her boyfriend as sometimes I feelike I'm intruding and my anxiety is always through the roof 🙃.
one of my goals for new Year is to stop feeling lonely all the time when I'm home but so far not good results
My other goal is to be able to communicate better and make friends which is not going well either like I, love coming on here and read how you are all doing but can't think of things to say like you all do with each other and feel like I don't belong anywhere.
I hope this year is better than last year as was not a good one
I'm struggling at the moment with financial cause my youngest son living with me turned 18 so I lost my family tax benefit and I applied for the DSP for my son but centrelink said they are backlogged months so could take up to 4months for decision so in the meantime I got the youth allowance for him and he can't work with his Aspergers and Junction housing has now charged him rent even though with the youth allowance I have lost $200 a f/n from tax benefits so have to pay more which I don't have it now leaves me with less than $50 a week for foodand cause of my son's condition he will only have certain foods which niw costs much more than I have so not sure how much longer I can afford to stay here even though it's community housing so just take one day at a time is all I can do now.
@SmilingGecko I hope you have a good year with your health and find some things that work and help you.
@TAB good luck with your interview coming up and it all works out.

@saturnzoon I am praying Centrelink resolve the issue with your sons' DSP. It is appalling that there is a backlog for such a necessary benefit.
I understand how you feel about going out with friend and their partner, 3's a crowd right? Especially on NYE. Good on you for going out though, I was in bed before 11 I think.
I like your resolution. I too would like to be less lonely. I hope we both have a better year and that the financial burden is eased for you
God bless
xo

@StuF Happy New Year plus 2!
Going to the tip instead of the beach? I'm with you on that one. We used to have a store here in Perth called Boans. When my aunt and uncle owned a caravan park up in Shark Bay they would often go to the tip and find an assortment of treasures. My aunt would say she's going to Boans. It became a family joke.
My first bike my grandfather found the frame at "Boans", bought new tyres and a few other bits and I had a bike.
I too, also hope I get used to writing 2025 before the 1st March!!

Hello @saturnzoon i know you aren't feeling the best to take on suggestions.
But is your son able to get outside and grow fruit and vegetables or for you guys to join a local community garden?
Is this something logistically you could also bring up with your community support worker who can link you in with services or provide you with suggestions so you don't feel untethered and alone in this?
I realise it can be daunting getting out there but he's 18 he may have more energy than you to get outdoors. It would save you a small sum of money. But I understand specialty diets, I'm in the same boat!
