Re: Tabaluga's

Good stuff @SmilingGecko !

Did you get that adapter you needed?

Re: Tabaluga's

Not yet @StuF I am waiting to get paid next week on Wednesday and talk to an electrician at Jaycar. The online consultant was able to direct me to the appropriate adapter (its called a converter) and I will go in and talk to somebody who is an electrician to double check and get them to show me that its safe to use with my device. They can give me a demo

I bought the violet ray last year but could not find an electrical store here. Theres no RadioShack no DickSmith so it made it somewhat difficult. I did not have transport to get out to places either so shops closer to Melbourne were out of the question.

I thought I could buy it from Amazon but was told I would need a converter and not an adapter later on in the piece after he sold it to me from overseas. So it kind of ruined my plans but for some reason Jaycar came up on my google search the other day. It never did. Maybe they are a new store?

All kinds of places popping up around here as its a growth coridoor. The area is growing all the time, we have lots of estates cropping up as well as all kinds of new infrastructure. I live in the old part. Its a quiet part of town. When I have gone into Melbourne in the past could not wait to get home to trees, fresh air and fewer people!

Re: Tabaluga's

Cool @SmilingGecko

Yeah, D*** Smith went online...'merged' with Kogan I think? Some relationship there

I've bought a few things from Jaycar over the years- been around for a long time. Not had problems. What they sell is cheap, but, in my experience, works.

Edit: site wouldn't let me use "Richard" Smith's name!

Re: Tabaluga's

Oh dear yes so funny this website with its monitoring @StuF!  We used to have a DickSmith in the local shopping centre but its no longer there but youre right they ARE online but I was under the impression he had closed down so still operational possibly without bricks and mortar. I can't get out to places all over Melbourne - its a bit of a sprawl and the transport out this way isn't as good as the metro areas. So I shelved the idea for a while. Jaycar looks like the way to go. Never heard of them before but being female I'm not into blokey things like electronics but will check them out next week! Got given the tip off from the customer care person so I know they have it in stock. So hopefully I'm all set now lol!!! 🙃

Re: Tabaluga's

Well good luck with Jaycar @SmilingGecko

Re: Tabaluga's

Thanks @StuF I'm looking forward to using this device and see what it can do for me.

Hey @TAB did you go over your extras insurance to see how much you are covered for annually?

I'm wondering if you have used up your annual coverage amount.

If youre only covered for $1000-$1500/year you may have used up your quota and you won't be covered for $2000 worth of new dental work.

I'm going to my BUPA portal to see how far the insurance stretches. Have been told I would be shocked at how little the insurance coverage goes. Will let you know

Re: Tabaluga's

@TAB I'm only allowed to claim $700/year in the first year for dental with BUPA.

I'm in my second year now so its $840/year. Wouldn't cover major dental work like root canal. Do you know how much you're covered for? Don't know how long you've had insurance

Re: Tabaluga's

I have no idea @SmilingGecko  just know i pay $800 and they pay me over $2000

Re: Tabaluga's

Its worth looking into it @TAB if you don't mind me saying.

There should be an online portal where you can check how much per annum you are covered for. I just sign into the BUPA members page.

You've allready had a costly trip to the dentist recently. I have my doubts they are going to cough up for the $2000

It may be worth either checking online or ringing your insurer to see if you will be covered for that future amount to protect yourself

I don't mind if I'm proved wrong but I don't want you slugged with a costly bill thinking you were automatically covered and guaranteed the money

The Dental Plan covers 15-75% of your bill, no waiting, no caps and no exclusions and is only $79/year for singles. It may slice your bill by a thousand dollars or more

I won't go on mentioning about it but please protect yourself
