Re: Tabalugas

Yeah @Shaz51  and @TAB

My veins used to be great...now, not so much! lol

And given I get at least two lots of tests done a month and a cannula monthly, having shite veins now is somewhat annoying!

And I Do try to drink as much water as is comfortable (ie I'm almost running to the loo by the time I'm at pathology) but it doesn't always work 😞

Re: Tabalugas

have heard sugar helps veins dilate ? @StuF  @Shaz51 ok chocolate does lol, poss coffee too.

do hand grips things few times a week, can't hurt to have some muscle around veins .

Re: Tabalugas

I've started doing more 'reps' of the light weights exercises I do for my cubital tunnel @TAB - so yeah, hopefully improving muscle and vascular health

Re: Tabalugas

My veins in my arm are hard to draw blood from. Have consistently had issues at pathology. Would drink like a fish to make the blood flow. Last blood draw went ok thanks to blood irradiation. But prior to that got injected 3 or 4 times each visit lol @StuF @TAB @Shaz51 @Meowmy @Oaktree

Re: Tabalugas

All this pathology talk @Former-Member @Shaz51 @TAB

I'm hoping I have an easy time this afternoon and Sunday.

I think a fair bit comes down to the collector's skill, too. As with all things, some people are better than others. I know in the ambulatory care wards I've visited over the years, there's always one person who's the go to for difficult patients lol
