Re: Tabalugas

@Oaktree I got grocery put away and a load of washing done and on the line. Keep up with the tidying Meggle! I find the Magic of Tidying thread really good for keeping me motivated - will post there instead of on Tabalugas. Got a meat delivery organised was lucky to squeeze in a delivery time before Xmas. It worked out well. Got to tackle tidying the laundry and then do my 2024 diary this afternoon. Have not been on schedule today as I slept through my alarm but am squeezing as much in as possible. Its quite hot out there but the house is cool. Tomorrow will be even hotter. So laundry tidying up today.  Will listen to my health audios during my afternoon siesta which I missed out on doing this morning

Re: Tabalugas

Hello @StuF you've been quiet on the forums! Thought I'd say hi. Just having an afternoon break because I got stuck into housework. I am doing a new audio that boosts mitochondrial health - the energy factories in our bodies. Not allowed to mention more due to forum guidelines but did read that some of our psychiatric meds can impair mitochondrial function hence slowing us down and making us tired.  Saw my med listed on a mitochondrial science page that seemed to indicate this.  I've experienced a dramatic shift in overall energy after doing the audio which means I am able to do more activity throughout the day

Re: Tabalugas

@TAB @SmilingGecko @Oaktree @StuF hey cool friends, done first day back at work after two weeks holiday. Went okay. Home now smashing zero. Take care all.

Re: Tabalugas

Well done @Meowmy, sounds like we all have had a busy day. Glad stuff went ok at work. @TAB has headed off somewhere, don't know if he was going to Adelaide or Canberra. Got a bit confused with the updates.  But he's left home for now. I'm about to clean the laundry. Have done a lot around the house today. @Oaktree is at art group and is planning on doing more stuff around the house, @StuF is quiet on the forums

Re: Tabalugas

Hey @Meowmy  - wasn't your holiday meant to be longer??

@TAB @SmilingGecko @Oaktree

Yeah, I've been quiet- trying to spend less time here. Attempting to write an "author's biography" for a writing competition I want to enter...been putting it off! Managed to get going with it this morning, but yeah...

@TAB  I hope your journey (?) goes well

Re: Tabalugas

Wow @StuF that sounds interesting. Your writing is very good from the poems you have put up on the forums. Keep at it. I hope you are within a chance of getting some kind of prize or acknowledgement

Re: Tabalugas

Thanks @SmilingGecko

I've entered poems in comps before and got nowhere, but worth trying again. First time I've needed a bio and it's quite difficult to do! Especially when I don't have many/any achievements to list etc lol

Anyway, an interesting exercise if nothing else 🙂

Re: Tabalugas

Wow @StuF as a fellow writer, I'm excited for you! I just started a children's picture book writing course. I've always wanted to write a kid's book. Well it's a lot hard than it looks lol. We all got our first lot of feedback back from our first assessment and it was brutal for most of us! But all good critique. I think we were all just surprised we messed up so much. Simple writing is often the most difficult, I've realised.

Good luck with yours!

Re: Tabalugas

Thanks @hanami !

I hope your course goes well...at least there's money to be made in children's books lol

(I know that's unlikely to be what's driving you, but yeah, poetry = no income! haha)

So what have you written before format wise?

Re: Tabalugas

Yep not the money, but it does come in handy, hey @StuF !

I used to write freelance for health and wellbeing publications. Mainly magazines. Then the whole landscape changed to digital and the work completely changed. I probably could have re-trained the but the idea of having people being able to comment on my work online scared the life out of me!

I've done a few creative writing courses as I used to love that as a kid. But didn't really do anything with it.
