Re: Share a cuppa?
All I can say is, despite not being the 'best' student at school, you manage so well @ArraDreaming ! It's so impressive how far you have come.
The hands on stuff is so important. I don't believe I 'can't' do it - I've just never had the opportunity.
As for Youtube tutes, I HATE them too! I hate watching them. I find it frustrates me so much. I rather read instructions.... however, unfortunately, often, the written instructions are not in the best english lol....

Re: Share a cuppa?
Everyone should be given opportunity to learn in a way that suits them, thanks @tyme
”not the best student” is putting it rather nicely haha 😆

Re: Share a cuppa?
Oh that sounds lovely @tyme - the birthday party.
I’ve had a productive day… kept myself busy while my daughter was at her fathers.
tomorrow… not sure yet. Had plans to go to church so daughter can rehearse for the kids service next week, but daughter has a temp tonight. Will do a covid test in the morning.

Re: Share a cuppa?
When I have my nieces and nephews around.....or kids for that matter.... i hardly every get things done! @Bow . Just having kid-free times do help....otherwise, I'm constantly picking up after them, taking them to the toilet, feeding them, cleaning them....so I'm glad you had a productive day. It really lifts my mood when I've been productive.
I hope your daughter feels better soon. I have been sick for the past few days. I thought it was covid, but it wasn't.. i think it's just my asthma playing up in this weather.
It's good to hear that church seems to play a big part in your life.

Re: Share a cuppa?
I was sooooo good in primary school @ArraDreaming - so good to the point that I think I was brain-dead. I actually didn't take anything in. According to one adult's account, I was 'a was two bricks thick! nothing was going in or out'. But supposedly I was the most well-behaved kid....
But all that changed in year 11 and 12 - the beginning of my MH issues where I think I 'exploded'. I remember getting so frustrated that i threw a chair at a teacher....ooops!

Re: Share a cuppa?
Going mostly for her @tyme id prefer to stay home at the moment. I’m really not in the right place to be going to church. And really not enjoying it at the moment.

Re: Share a cuppa?
Oh boy, see they probably thought that because you were well behaved and quiet that everything was ok, such a worry that kids can slip through
I left school early but what I do know that even since I have been out of high school the support for students and their mental health has gotten way better @tyme such a shame it hasn’t always been this way
we didn’t have anyone for wellbeing support in the high schools I went to, only a counsellor who nobody really knew how to access or what their name was, I do remember getting a school tour and they hurried past the counsellors office like it was such a problem if you were in there, they tried to talk to me once and I told them where to go and they never talked to me again and then when I tried to light the school on fire they tried to tell me that instead of doing things to get attention when I need it that I should ask for it instead, yeah right ok like that was going to happen.
times have changed! My sons primary school next year has 3 wellbeing staff and they are a smallish school 400 kids or so

Re: Share a cuppa?
Yes @ArraDreaming we have had covid once. Last year. It’s going around at school. So it could very well be it again unfortunately.!
