Sadness comes when I start feeling lonely. When I become overwhelmed and fed up with lockdowns and restrictions.
Then my negative self talk, that I can normally keep under control, becomes loud and continious.

Q2. Sadness shows up in my life as a kind of disconnect from my daily purpose and activities. As a result I tend to do less and over think. I become almost numb to joy and hyper sensitive to negative experiences, however small.
Edited to add: This disconnection seems to appear when I am feeling tired, misunderstood and/or isolated from others.

At the moment I'm feeling:
Isolated
Abandoned
Grief
powerless
empty (or rather that the world is empty)
inferior
For me, it tends to come hand-in-hand with anxiety as well.

Hi @jsm74 ,
I hear that you are experiencing these feelings today, which can be a really hard space to sit in. How have you managed and coped with it all?

Thanks for your message
Honestly I'm not coping well. I've felt this way every second of every day for 2 months now. I just don't know how to get past this or even distract myself. 2 months ago I was strong and muscular, now I just look weak and a bit malnourished. Therapy hasn't done much good so far, but I guess I need to give that time.
It does help to be heard, so I'm at least grateful for people like you.

Hi @jsm74 ,
I can understand your struggle in coping with changes to your physical appearance, it is something that I have faced before too and it left me with a lot of feelings you described in your previous post. It can be really overwhelming. While it does take some time to work through, you can work through it, and you are not alone
If you ever feel like you need some extra support, I encourage you to reach out to to the SANE Help Centre or book a call/webchat with a peer support worker. They're great for those tougher moments and you just need someone to talk to.

Question 3:
What are signs that sadness is coming on? How does sadness feel physically in your body?
