What a beautiful update to share @Bettyboop2 I'm so pleased that you're really noticing a difference and getting that motivation back. And I can just imagine how positive riding will be for your continued recovery, horses are so amazing and time with them can be healing I think.
Are you having that riding lesson today?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
I’m having a lesson today. It is such a beautiful day up here. I find being around my horses very therapeutic. My breathing slows down and I feel relaxed which is great for my anxiety. They are very intuitive animals. When I was at my lowest my horses would gather around me and allowed me to cry and express my sadness . They would respond by lowering their heads so I could hug them. It is a vulnerable place for them to be in.@Ru-bee

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
I have 2 horses. Ked is a warmblood and is 14 yrs old. My other horse is a quarter horse cross stock horse and he is 15. They are very expensive to keep but totally worth it. Riding is my happy place.

That is so beautiful @Bettyboop2. Yes I've heard how intuitive they are with emotions, which is why there's equine therapy. I guess this is sort of like your own version of equine therapy.
I hope the lesson goes well today

What fur babies do you have?

@rav3n I love seeing people in their traditional sari. They always look so beautiful to me. Well done on embracing your culture.

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
Thanks Ru-bee for the lovely welcome! I'm glad to be here, I've been desperately searching all over my region for DV survivor support groups and they are all very small, already full, or no longer running because they didn't get funding this year. It's hard feeling so alone with what I've been through, and what I'm still going through because I've got a court case still going on. This weekend's highlight was visiting a friend's house and relaxing in the shade with an iced coffee. Cheers, DJ TJ.
