Re: New poem

@StuF

I really loved that poem. Thanks

I understand that depth does not always mean you are struggling but finding stillness in the depths is good healing.

I had some moments while away.  There were 2 cathedrals of different stripes opposite each other.  I sang in both and then played bass in the park next to them.

Blues and Beatles.

Then looked down and saw other insects lol.

Cheers mate

had a good mini Dutch moment saying bye to a german yesterday.  She said 'Dag' and so did I... finding common ground.

Re: New poem

well I guess it was overseas then @Appleblossom  my one trip 20 years ago now, in small town on former East German Border at aunty never met before's place and wanting a drink .. got directed to local soccer club so trotted off there on my own after being pointed in general direction. Was not allowed to pay for anything. Then strangers I was yukking it up with said oh we've got you an English person .. ( ok there were lots of 'stragglers' from British Army of the Rhine . ie preferred Germany and stayed there lol)

..so .. I couldnt speak English.. had been in full immersion for couple weeks and brain was re-wiring itself, heels starting to click together etc (jk)

ok was shocked, it worked again after a couple of goes .. re 'dag' ..  and 'connections' .. Heimat

Re: New poem

nah @TAB not overseas, back o Bourke ... lol ... but there was a Belgian male and a German female who lived in Amsterdam and knew our lingo ... ie I have been called a dag by Aussies and that means something else ... lol ... its all in the pronunciation of the g, kinda international festival even if you do not believe me.  It was worth it.

Re: New poem

Thanks @Appleblossom  🙂

(I thought I had replied, but just realised I had not!)

Sounds like you had a good adventure

Re: New poem

Oh that is a beautiful spot in that picture that you shared @TAB

The history there would be spectacular...

Ah the U Bahn yes I can just pick the yellow..

A very large train system and I can perfectly understand a young man feeling in awe of such a unique system.. Very cleverly designed..

Australia could learn more from overseas transport systems..

We are a much younger country of course and systems that large cost money..

A lovely experience and memory for you..

Re: New poem

Hello @Appleblossom

Sounds like a wonderful festival and time that you had..

Would had been re-energising for you...

When you mentioned "dag" I immediately thought of the Australian term which I have heard some people used..

Another term that confuses me..

It makes more sense that it originates from a european language...

The cathedrals would have been amazing..

One of my loves..

Re: New poem

Hello @StuF

I am looking forward to reading more of your poetry..

I think that I might have sidetracked the subject here...

So apologies about that..
