Oh okay thanks @Zoe7 for the NT time zone. I wasnt sure. Perhaps they dont have daylight savings? I just have some recollection that they were 1.5 hours different to NSW. But it would make sense that they be the same as SA.
@Jacques, thanks for the additional info on the song/poem. All pretty interesting isnt it?
Yes @Teej I think I agree with you. I may not last until midnight. Very tired already. Perhaps I should go with NZ time?
Does anyone know the first country to reach the new year? I heard on the radio today that its Kiribati. Although I believe Samoa is in the same time zone, so perhaps its both? Geography is not my forte!

SA is 30mins in front of Qld. 

SA and NT 1 hour apart

NT and WA 90mis apart

New Zealand is first to get the New Year - I have relatives in the Land of the Long White Cloud - and relatives of those relatives living here of course

Two hours ahead of us so they are already in 2019

Which seems rather strange thinking about it - like a time warp
