I am very jealous of you seeing Split Enz in concert @Appleblossom . I loved them, they were different with great music. I saw Crowded House in concert and they were great. One of my fav concerts. Neil's voice is just as wonderful in concert as on cd's.
We certainly do have a lot to thank the kiwis when it comes to great music.

Wow, what a great time in New York @Sweet_cheeks . You certainly experienced heaps. I love the story about the panpiping guys from Peru, that is a classic. That concert of The Clash would have been wild, very jealous here lol. Interesting though that you think Chicago is better than New York. Never had any desire to go there but now maybe I might have to consider going there if the money ever allows.
I have not heard of Ty Segall, but I will certainly check him out when I get the chance. Thanks for mentioning him. And yes he can be mentioned in this thread, we have spoken about the 70's here so anything goes lol.

@MDT @Shaz51 @TAB @Sweet_cheeks
@Scarecrowe I was lucky my girlfriends had good taste in music. Different ones were always trying to show me something or other. Expand my experience beyond church and classical. That was a work gf.
Spics and specs ... relates to both a Beach Boys song and an Aust tv show.
Larrikin music sued.
Greg Ham died. Cause uncertain ... but...
I loved "Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree" and feel the rthymic similarity overstated. The riff was later changed by Colin Hay.
I am interested in all aspects of music ... or ethnomusiclogy ...
