Re: Good Morning!

I need a podiatrist badly, @Former-Member, but just can't afford one. The reason my feet hurt is that I damaged them years ago, walking long distances. They have broadened, and my bones aren't all where they should be. Hence the pain. I wear orthotics in every thing and cannot stand shoes without arch support. Used to be standard back in the day.

What are you currently learning? I tried chemistry for a while. It's a fascinating subject but I've had a couple of goes at it and each time have become side-tracked onto something else.

Nothing like the power of positive thinking, is there? Although sometimes, it's hard to come by.

Think I'll take a stroll out in the sunshine. Exercise and vitamin D.

Re: Good Morning!

There are so many bitcoin companies now that you have to be very wary, @Former-Member. Stay with the slow progress. Snail's pace is more sure-footed.

Re: Good Morning!

Thankyou for that  @Former-Member   I just learnt something and I'm going to give it a go when I get out of here.    I have old burns on my back and neck that will just soak that up.

I use vitamin E and  shea butter, but Mr google tells me your potions are better.   Its all about the dermal penetration hey.

Have a beautiful day Smiling Gecko.                                                                               tonys

Re: Good Morning!

Yes @Historylover I know what you mean. I have put off seeing the podiatrist as I have no neuropathy and currently my feet aren't tingling.  It did not make sense to pay up for something I don't need even if I had a scheduled appointment several months down the track. Has your GP drawn up a plan for you? The first two visits to podiatrist are free. I had to get extras insurance to cover me in future contingencies with podiatrists but everything is going up price wise. I can't afford basic health insurance either. Who can? Have heard of people cancelling their house and car insurance as they can't afford it. People skimping by not going to the dentist etc..My house insurance has gone up by another $30 this year.  At the moment I am learning how to survive in crisis situations. I downloaded a huge book compiled by Daisy Luther for what I could afford to pay cheaply. She is big in the preparedness scene. Am challenging myself to learn from accounts of what went on in Bosnia and one man's survival plan living without access to water and food during a war and civilian crisis.

Re: Good Morning!

Hello @Glisten I don't know enough about multivitamins but will say most of the stuff sold on the market is watered down (full of fillers) or synthetic. So you have to buy something from an ethical business. The supplement industry is full of fraud and theres no guarantee that its good for your health. I've seen people get really sick with health food products by implicitly trusting a supplier.  I learned this from a food technologist who runs a testing lab in the USA that tests supplements for their safety and authenticity.  The organic market is on the same bandwidth. Many products with the organic label are simply not organic and come from places like China with dubious manufacture.  So you got to do your research about your multivitamins, read customer reviews and talk to naturopaths with insider knowledge of changes in the industry manufacturing process eg. I was going to buy some Gaia herbs but spoke to a naturopath who indicated that the product involved lower than expected standards in manufacture which posed an ethical problem for them. I would say don't waste your money buying a product hoping it will deliver results when it won't. Spend a little bit more on a well researched product is what I would say and not to buy a tonne of healthfood products as too much can have the reverse effect. I have heard this from healers. A minimum amount of supps is the best for healing benfits.

Re: Good Morning!

I have been spending this month more than before. It seems that being given $100 Coles voucher when exiting the treatment centre caused me to drop my financial guard, @Former-Member—or maybe I just had a lot of catching up to do. Either way, it has been a costly month, but I did buy my first xmas gift and a number of other necessaries.

I had no idea I was entitled to 2 free podiatrist sessions, @Former-Member. I am told nothing. What are the entitlements re mental health care these days, do you know?

And isn't there another $250 voucher or discount available for us this year too? Did I hear correctly?

I seldom see a GP but when I do I like to be able to avail myself of free services if they are needed and available, but I get the feeling that the GPs think I'm after all I can get which is very untrue. I'm just after what I need at the best price, especially free services.

Re: Good Morning!

@ Tab buttinski, but used to be 12 MH free visits well was after covid , could  be 6  also was some scheme where had choice of say dietician, physio etc for 6 visits  Not used them in years @Historylover  @Former-Member fell free to ignore this post

Re: Good Morning!

To be honest, @Glisten, I believe that a proper diet and exercise is better than anything, but if you want to try something, do your research and read reviews critically.

Nice day here in Melbourne. Slowly warming up for the coming hot weather when we'll be wanting the cooler weather back again.

Re: Good Morning!

My plan every day is to live frugally and wisely @Former-Member. I don't skimp on essentials, but I don't have health insurance, so when I'm paying, I want value for my money. My ex-psy told me to drop it years ago when I went on Disability Support Pension. (He bulk-billed me and bulk-billing GPs were quite standard back then). I seldom see a GP and (almost) always go to doctors who bulk bill when I do, and when you are in this situation, you learn the merit of looking after your health.
