I currently live in Melbourne but I have lived in other places. I was also involved in mental health support groups about 30 - 35 years ago. One of these met in the Melbourne CBD and another in Newport. Some of us used to hang out in Williamstown on occasions and I also had support group friends who lived in Northcote but I have never lived in these places.
Regards
Willy

I used to keep my unit sparkling, but I've let it go since I've been studying. Cleaning's now in the back of my mind and will hound me until I get it done. One little step at a time. It's not September yet. It's always a good feeling to get it done. Perhaps when my course component finishes and I'm waiting for the next to begin. Studying is going well, @Former-Member, but I'm feeling a bit burnt out at the moment. Not much else happening here. Keeping busy and out of trouble. Hope you're doing alright.

Thornbury for me, is where little bro lived. He was not yuppie and not long there, but I know what you mean. @Former-Member
i was further in; Collingwood Brunswick Parkville etc. Now am out west.
@Willy Never knew about those groups. Its a big city aye?
@Historylover Best of love to you. Thinking of defering my course. Glad your study is going well.
@Jacques Aussie culture is shifting all the time, it was a bit xenophobic for a while, but mostly that is gone these days, with the huge flux of immigrants. In some ways that is good cos it opens things up, tho it also means we cant take many cultural things for granted. I try to focus on bridging, with others. In the meantime, I feel some solace for myself, in not blaming myself for isolation, but understanding the different forces at work. Sometimes it is me isolating because not feeling safe enough to venture out, sometimes it is just a mismatch. Hoping you find more people to relate with, gradually broadening your social circle..

Never been to WA @TAB Maybe put it on bucket list.
Feeling is mutual @MDT its good to have friends from different generations.
@StuF I also enjoyed the bit when JP was talking about supposed traits in only children, and then had to backtrack when interviewer mentioned he was an only child.
cheers all ... @Historylover @Willy ... et al ...
