@Glisten I have been a bit slack too. My friend and I used to just meet up over a table of magazines and do visionboards. You can now do them on Pinterest and use pictures off the internet or upload your own pictures from your computer. I say well maybe do them, it may keep you on point. There are you tube videos on how to do visionboards off Pinterest. I just watched one and did a visionboard quite quickly. It was easy to do! You got until 1:1 to make your visions!

Oh @Former-Member
Saw ted talk on outside defecation. Things life and councils have changed rules these days.
Am in fb groups for off grid types as that was a lot of people I knew back in the day were into. Thought about it a bit, but I just have not got the health to do it now. But guess I could get a camper loo for the garage just in case....
I am upset 'they' have usurped our black swans for such a negative concept. Well I guess it could be unusually positive ... but ...
I know it is sad and a warning that Aussies are being told to leave Lebanon.
Def is a crazy world @StuF @Glisten @TAB
@tonys Tut Tut! But I guess we all do it.

@Appleblossom black swan was a term coined by someone involved in writing a book on world events and quantitative analysis. I never read the book but listened to a condensed audiobook on it instead with key takeaway points, it was a 30 minute listen on Audible. Basically its events that cannot be statistically predicted along the lines of something like a bellcurve but rather fall outside of it. He instead proposes fractal theorems. Its not worth buying the audiobook or the book as its just a whole lot of dry world events with statistical analysis but it makes us aware that humans need something to draw on to hedge against such an event and to be able to think clearly in such a situation requiring proactive solutions. The author had his own black swan experience which is why he was guided to write the book

Mmmm, well my plan was to cheer you up with some more BS, but I can't help feeling you may be right @Former-Member. I once worked on a cattle station that was way overstocked and I cant help
drawing comparisons. I found it a lot harder to reliably grow cops now than when I first started farming.
and now there's a whole lot more mouths to feed. I've seen what animals do to each other when they are hungry, . . . really hungry. and they don't have steel teeth and imaginations like we do.
You're following your instincts SG.. sounds good to me. They got you this far, they'll take you where you need to be.
Thoughts are with you mate. tonys.

ended up talking to old boss of fathers at his funeral @tonys he tripled his acreage and ditched sheep, changed crop rotations, became no-drill fanatic over last 50 years since we left.
grain sells for 5-10x what it did back then. they pull in millions every year, have increased yields. hear local farmers talking in shops here , seems its normal to drop $1.5mil every year on latest header lol, must be tax advantageous
so, in this case productivity and profit Way up , plus no more fences, animals, bothering with shearers, looking after animals etc, just layy righ back and watch millions roll in like winning lotto every year lol, well ticket costs a mil, but get $3 mil back , if bad year, govt covers you lolo..........

Self sufficient dunnies make sense to me regardless of Armageddon. I have a reed bed system in the place I'm going to and it works a treat. What about a composting system @Appleblossom @Former-Member . Truth is, if it starts raining rads, the council wont care what we do.
I recon EMP protection is top priority to me. @TAB Build me a valve 2 way radio please. Lead coating if you please.
Anyway, movies on so look forward to more on this later.
Hey, maybe we need a survivalists thread. @Oaktree , we need a post cataclysmic cook book, if you could be so kind.
Nite all. tones..

Yes @Former-Member
I had heard of it before, but still wish they didnt use it. I also did stats and thought about probability and reasonableness and the NORMAL curve since mid teens! Later did writing and know people like having an angle to sell books.
Maybe I should read it one day, but author was an options trader so rich enough, so only if I can get it 2nd hand. At least he distinguishes between American and European cultures. That is something. Ahah it is a Latin expression. Guess they had not made it to the Great SOuth land.
