Hi guys, it’s difficult when holidays are just a bit of a trigger.

..i've slept thru NYE last 35 years , does that count ? @tyme @avant-garde 

hate to say it, but one time when not depressed at xmas alone ( most of last 10 years at least) was when I got special food, hats and pulled crackers myself lol. I enjoyed it. then the next year,was looking at decorations and just thought ..yeh, nah, not doing that..

I have a schedule...

We don't have a functioning laundry here so I go to the laundromat

While it's washing I fetch coffee, scripts and food stuff.

While it's drying I go to my favourite little op shop and spend more time talking to the volunteers then actually looking at the shelves. 

They told me they're doing 50% off this week and I'm up to my $10 voucher...

It also gets me out...

This is something I'm so wary of... the pain that holidays can bring for people... 

I don't think people realise unless they've been in the thick of it.

I was just telling @avant-garde on another thread that I've spent so many Christmas/New Years in hospital. It's my worst time (well, WAS).

Why I'm saying this is because I accompanied my sister to an op shop once. She bought all these books and the lady said it's buy 1 get 1 free. My sister was ummmming and ahhing over what books to buy. Then the lady said, or you can get 50% off...

I looked at the lady, and I said "Um, did you know that buy 1 get 1 free and 50% off is the same thing?"

She just looked at me....

Say you're getting a $6 jewellery box and a $3 water bottle

50% off would be $4.50

Buy one get one free would be $6 because it's normally the one of lesser value that's free

No no no... this was about books. All the books were $2 each or something. They were op shop things... 

But yes, if it was a pair of shoes or clothes from other shops, then it's not the same thing.

Fortunately the public trustees will take over my ex husband's money plus have authority over his home when his mum gifts her home to him. 

I will wipe my hands away from this responsibility.

@PeppyPatti you've done your best caring for your ex but I know you are concerned about his welfare with these women. Theres not much you can do. 

If he's lonely he could try meeting some real women in our community instead of these women that are out for money off facebook. He's only going to get hurt by these online women with their fake profiles and ulterior motives.

My ex was out for my parents estate but I made it so watertight that he did not get a cent. Its not to say I did not get hurt though. He was not genuine and I would say he's moved onto another woman to try and extract gains from. I wish him luck.

I got trinkets and Christmas bits and broken jewellery and a sketching set! Eep!

And yes my scripts...

Oh and a small bag of broken jewellery for me to take apart and create with... that was fun 🙂
