.. $250 ? @Former-Member I get $405/wk from govt. Looking to find ways to cut back spending. Going to be some pain before this inheritance thing comes through ... hopefully it will in a big way .. However, something one brother said recently makes me suspect that he might be up to something. think lawyers said I was only one in my family chasing it. well, I told them that , based on hearsay, think they confirmed it.
Got rates owing, private health spending a ton on fuel with course and appts, got $3000 dental bill coming, cpap machine going to be $2000 ..etc etc

Asami Puss has just been outside house for first time today (this afternoon).
Not straying too far away so far - Yet she was too interested in my Birds in Aviaries (Oh Yum, Meals on Wings etc)...

Glad to hear Asami Puss went outside and was ok. I was so stressed first time I let Marmalade out. Was worried she would run away or get lost. She goes out regularly now and I don’t bat an eye.

@TAB I have had a financial strain since paying off my electric hot water system and attending an online summit. Am in savings mode again.
I have to get back into the black all over again after this major set of expenditures. But yes a spending tracker has made me more mindful about how I spend money.
With my rates I used to pay over the course of a year. To make it easier I would pay fortnightly which lessened the pain a bit.
I don't know where you come up with the $3000 for dental. Just be careful as some dentists have signed up to Centrepay and theres all kinds of hidden costs designed to extract money from folks on government allowances.
I have seen people get slugged heavier bills when they think Centrepay is there to serve and protect them. It appeared on the news. There has been a senate inquiry into unscrupulous operators using Centrepay to rip people off!!!
Wanted to say I saw a dental plan (not insurance) that you can sign up on the spot $75/year no wait, no caps, no exclusions and they pay 15-45% of the cost of your dental bill. It could save you thousands
I learned about dental plans from Suze Orman who is a financial advisor in the USA. They have dental plans there too. I did some looking around on the internet a few weeks ago for myself and yes there are dental plans in Australia. https://www.smile.com.au If you allready have dental extras thats ok as you can benefit twice!!! Check in to see how that is done.
She had a root canal recently and saved up to $1000 by using a dental plan. She says dental insurance doesn't always meet the cost of dental.
Please check out smile dot com dot au - they are Australia-wide 🙂

A dental savings plan, otherwise known as a “dental discount plan” is different than health insurance. Instead, it could be thought of as a membership. With a dental savings plan, you pay an annual fee, typically $150 or less for a family, to enroll. In exchange, you receive a discount on services at participating dental providers.
For example, you might receive 40% off a routine cleaning or 25% off the cost of filling a cavity. Unlike insurance, the savings plan doesn’t pay for these costs. Instead, they are negotiated discounts for plan members.
You are responsible for paying for the rest of the costs of any given service. For example, if you have a $1,000 procedure and your dental savings plan gives you a 20% discount, you will pay the remaining $800.
..extras does this already , i get like 80% back and more than i pay now
I have $50k cash left still and maybe $80k in super but its going One Way .. so yes I can afford dental, just unless i get an Income , im stuffed lol ie more than 400 a week lol that food, petrol, RAA, car insurance, house insurance, extras. rates, power, gas, internet. well most of them.

Yes @Oaktree I'm always worried when I let any of my Cats outside for the first few times.
The first time Pepper Puss went outside, she disappeared within 30 minutes.
Then I found Pepper Puss in the Roof of my house, but she did not want to come down (or out).

You can stand to benefit twice if you have both dental insurance and a dental plan, they can be combined @TAB so you get an even higher discount. I'm going to sign up. I have dental insurance with BUPA and will combine it with a dental plan with Smile.
