@TAB Yes got some tinned meat. Don't do canning as in using a canner to preserve meat and veg but know someone on a budgeting site who does. Church fete may be a good idea have seen a local market not sure about prices. Haven't been there yet but saw it advertised on facebook. I have lots of canned beans, pulses and lentils. I have buckets of borlotti and red lentils. Learnt how to make a red lentil bread last week by putting red lentils through coffee grinder and then adding the rest of the ingredients eggs baking powder etc - it will use up my red lentils. Much cheaper than low carb/gluten free bread mix at $7 a packet plus its a protein bread. May give it a whirl this weekend. I have some leftover eggs which I could use up to bake this red lentil protein bread. Have seen something called prill beads being used to filter water. Don't know if it gets out chlorine and fluoride or not. Easy to buy - will look into it. So its reservoirs that use rocks to filter out I wonder what they are called?

i assumed these rocks they use they are blue ish had some good effect on the water. @SmilingGecko after reading a bit, they are not mentioned, but sedimentary rocks and some special russian rock is. charcoal also is best water filter.
ok found it, it is used to treat water for algae at least

Hello everyone. No, I'm not back... Just this one letter of deep appreciation for all your kind words.
I look to the west and think of my friends trying to make it through another day,
little homes of hope, made from melting bricks, under the fierce eye of the summer cyclops. My thoughts are truly with you. It can't be easy..
In the shadow of that, My gripes are trite.
You know, the one thing I do like about being really crook is, it strips you back to the very basics.
The little gifts we somehow lost sight of in this crazy world. I know its not the music thread
but I hope you go with it.. https://youtu.be/uirBWk-qd9A?si=7P79fRTt9i-7zVwk
My very best wishes to you all. I'll be back soon as I'm past the whinge phase of this ailment LoL
