I don't belong to any traditions as such really anymore @Glisten as I think it can be very narrowing but I respect the accumulated wisdom I've derived benefit from as its had useful applications in my daily life.
Tarpanam is a vedic offering to ancestors. I learnt about it off astroved.com. Here is more information on what it is and how to do it:

This article goes into more extensive spiritual detail on how it can energetically affect change in your life:

Here is free video with shaman, Sandra Ingerman with a practice to welcome in the morning Sun. The video goes into great detail on how to harness the Sun's energy for healing.

The morning chant to the Sun she does in English is as follows. I used to store it as an audio on my mobile phone and go outdoors chanting along with it to greet the morning Sun:
Morning Sun:
Morning Sun, Morning Sun,
Come my way, Come my way
Morning Sun, Morning Sun,
Come my way, Come my way
Morning Sun, Morning Sun,
Come my way, Come my way
Come my way, Come my way,
Take my pain, Take my pain.
Come my way, Come my way,
Take my pain, Take my pain.
Come my way, Come my way,
Take my pain, Take my pain.
Take my pain, Take my pain,

As for astrology the fourth house in the natal chart refers to a number of things including ancestry. My Sun is in my fourth house. Wherever the Sun is featured in your natal chart is where you draw your vitalising aspects. So I gain much benefit from my lineage, strength can come from honoring ancestors.

Hey @Glisten good to see you on here. Wishing you a lovely day of cheer and celebrations. I'm having fun today gobbling up food I prepared earlier on in the week. Just downed a couple of non alcoholic champagne mocktails made out of coconut water, sparkling mineral water, pomegranate arials and a smidgeon of fresh lime juice. What are you doing? Got to remember to take my meds lol!
