Hello @TAB my little aircon unit is still working beautifully. I have it on when I'm feeling hot. Got to get foil put on the windows again. Its an amazing idea I learned about years ago and have mentioned to you in the past. My foil is still going even though the company is no longer in business. Its cheap but reduces heat by around 5 degrees going my indoor thermometer. I also put the bamboo blinds down outside too so it does made an added difference but I don't think we can do without aircon these days. I got an email from my solar power company on the weekend and my solar power unit is officially feeding excess electricity I generate back into the grid. So may pick up extra cash I don't know. My last electricity bill was zero but I still had to pay some contributions. But when I checked it on the graph the usage was half of what it was the previous month with solar power. I'm also using less greenhouse gas. I had to edit this post as I tried taking a photo of my bill when I remembered I could go to my account and take a screenshot

Aluminium foil is good @TAB don't knock it - if it works it works! Mine is a little bit more robust so it doesn't tear and it has tiny holes so you can look out. It has lasted years, its a shame they don't make it anymore. The company Renshade went bust. I spoke to the owner and his business just folded in the last few years. I suspect it was due to heavy demand and the stress of running a small fledgeling family business. It would have been ideal for the situation people are in now. I still have excess foil on a roll so if I rip any of the foil sheeting I can cut out another sheet off the roll. It was a great idea for renters. I guess I better put up my foil again. I only have vertical blinds but blinds with thermal backing would be perfect! 🙂

It sounds like you are doing great with each little step anyway, @TAB. Give yourself credit. When you're older, you will still have time to appreciate all the effort you put in...and enjoy picking your fruit.
40 degrees? We're having 31 today and that's enough.

Good logic, @TAB. Keep having fun with it. You will soon be looking back and realize how far you've come in such a short time.

Wow that is interesting @TAB had no idea knock offs were on ebay. I could rave on and on about Renshade. But definitely need aircon now. Thats expensive to run aircon where you are and you even keep the thermostat at an efficient level. Don't know how much its going to cost now and into the future. Electricity has allready gone up by another $30/month this year. Got a letter from Red Energy to that effect. Next year it will go up even more based on whats happening overseas.
