Re: Good Morning

Hello @Historylover how are you lovely? Just back in from my early morning walk. Came across a beautiful magpie feather. Its a crisp beautiful morning today. I did not feel hot in my puffer jacket - just feelings of invigoration and feeling the blood pumping! I noticed some beautiful walks being published in a free online magazine for Melbourne. It was mainly for people with a car that can get out that way. My ex and I used to walk doggo through lots of parks and scenic areas.  He had a council car and the petrol was paid for by the council so we had lots of trips in and around Melbourne and even Victoria. I have been single for 10 years now and don't have much access to places. Thats ok. I've seen what I wanted to see.  But its always nice checking out new places on your own.  I hope you have a nice day today.  I have an online group tomorrow.

Re: Good Morning

I was just sitting here wondering what I would do today and was delighted to see your post, just for me, @SmilingGecko. Thank you.

Well, the overcast conditions are making the day a little chilly. I'll get out for my walk a little later when I need some fresher air.

I made my application for the $250 payment from our government and was bewildered when it was rejected. I reapplied and it was also rejected. Then I learned that it doesn't open until 24 March. I sometimes don't take in all information. Sometimes we just have too much else on our minds.

I don't get anywhere these days, @SmilingGecko. In fact, it has been so for the past 20+ years. People talk about this or that suburb, and although I have been in Melbourne for 40+ years, I am rather at a loss as to exactly where they are. And everywhere is changing so much. We watch social progress in action throughout over lives. My mother was born into, and spent her entire life, in the one suburb. Photographs of the area in her childhood were of random houses in what could only be described as bushland. To see it today, where it has been completely built out and is in the process of being systematically replaced with two houses on one block, must have been astonishing to reflect upon. Or, perhaps, it all happens one house at a time, and we scarcely notice the overall changes reshaping our world.

I hope you have a delightful day, too, @SmilingGecko.

Re: Good Morning

G'day @SmilingGecko

I'm ok thanks. Just going for a walk now. Work this afternoon.

Feeling a bit flat, but anyway.

Great Work by you with your blood sugars and trimming down!

Re: Good Morning

Thats ok @Historylover.  Its nice checking in to see how you are going 🙂  Yes I applied for the bonus after reading in the newspaper but got an e-mail saying to wait until the 24th March. So its not long to wait. I am looking forward to receiving the bonus.  My reverse cycle a/c is making loud noises so it probably needs to be serviced so thats where the money is going.

I don't think even with a car you can get far nowadays with the prices of petrol. Even before the pandemic things were very tight for folks on low incomes with car ownership. I knew people that only used their car for essential trips such as doctors appointments etc. I now suspect its even worse.  I don't mind getting around on foot but it would be nice to be able to move around a bit more.  I'm planning on doing nature walks to be in tranquil surrounds such as man made lakes and birdlife.

Have you ever been to a labyrinth? Theres one not far from me. Its been said people walk around them to gain clarity on their problems.  I'm planning on going to one for some inspiration and hopefully to shed light on some important matters in my life.

Re: Good Morning

Yes @StuF I know those kind of days when you feel kind of sluggish.  Its hard to get motivated.  Walk will be good and work later on will get you outside of the house. Have you heard back from the biopsy test results yet? Or do you have to wait another week? I hope you feel better soon. Acupressure is great for sluggishness - it can break you out of a rut fast as only takes a few minutes!

Re: Good Morning

I'm looking forward to getting the bonus too, @SmilingGecko. I'll put mine towards one or two psychiatrist consultations next month. There's always someone waiting for my money.

I've never regretted getting rid of my car in 2012, but lately I have been wishing I had one again. Trouble is, I just don't have consistent need of one, and another would just sit around like the last. I watch the price of petrol in gratitude that I don't have to worry about it.

No, I've never been to a labyrinth. Looks like there a lot of people looking for clarity of mind, @SmilingGecko.

Your picture has just loaded. Is that the labyrinth near you?

Re: Good Morning

Walk was good @SmilingGecko

And yes, work gets me out 🙂

I get stitches out/results next Tuesday

Have a good one 😊

Re: Good Morning

@SmilingGecko @tyme @TAB @Judi9877  and everyone

Happy Friday. Not feeling it here, but it will pass 🙂

I hope you have good days

Re: Good Morning

Yes @Historylover the labyrinth is 3/4hour down the road by bus. Its at the Dame Elsbeth Murdoch's art gallery called McClelland Art Gallery. Rupert Murdochs late mother used to own that gallery. Her property where she used to live is Cruden Farm which is several minutes down the road from the gallery.  I used to go to the gallery a lot. There are art installations in the grassy surrounds which are really pretty to look at. They have a new director there now. But the art exhibits have been interesting.

Re: Good Morning

In addition to my previous message.  Have you checked out "Headspace"? - they have bulk billing psychiatrists all over Melbourne and may even do Zoom consult. Don't waste your precious money seeing an expensive shrink. Psychiatry is becoming so corporatised and penalises those in need. Check out Headspace. I knew someone on facebook who got free appointments with Headspace. Hes in his early 60's @Historylover. Just a tip 😉 ❤️
