Just making some hair gel out of linseeds! I don't buy commercial gels as they are full of chemicals and no good for the scalp. I used to buy Woolworths brand but it gave me hair fall. So I either use perfume-free aloe vera gel which is pricey or make my own gel out of linseeds
The gel I make is the same as any top ayurvedic hair gel that you buy online for a steep price, only my gel costs nothing. Its good for your scalp and it gives your hair volume. Heres the recipe I've perfected over the years:
LINSEED (FLAXSEED) HAIR GEL Prep time 10 min, Ready in 20 min Serving size: 1 weeks worth of gel. Ingredients: 1 cup water 2 tbsp linseeds. Directions: Pour water into saucepan and add linseeds, heat on high. Stir every so often to keep the seeds moving and keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Once the water comes to boil, stir gently, but constantly. Once a thin foamy jelly forms, turn down heat a little, but keep stirring, watching for the point when you let the seeds settle for a second and they suspend in the clear jelly instead of sinking to the bottom. At this point turn off the heat, give one last stir, and immediately pour the liquid and seeds into a strainer over a bowl. Let the gel strain out of the seeds (but don't let the gel dry there). Repeat if there are any stray seeds in the gel. Use a whisk and quickly beat the gel (10sec) to break up any strands. Pour in container and refrigerate.
