Hi @Shaz51 ,
Thankyou for your Good Morning. In between 3am wake up for day shift and 3pm wake up for night shift I get a bit low. My previous partner has been in hospital now for a 6 days with cellulitis and finally a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. I am so grateful he is getting amazing care in Hospital. I suspected he had diabetes, it's hereditary but he was no exhibiting symptoms. I'm finding it a real struggle living alone since he has been unwell. I realise how much I'm struggling on since his admission. I'm trying to find some resilience here. I'm also anxious given my partner is handed diabetic medication and given no information on type 2 diabetes apart from what I google. Today his medication was changed again....staff hand out medication with no explanation of what it is or what it does. I continue to google. Anxiety is high here but I remain thankful I may spend 5 hours with my partner tomorrow and hopefully get some information on his treatment and prognosis. I understand staff are far understaffed and constantly busy but I can't understand the complete lack of explanation on my partner's health and any questions he might have regarding his treatment. A little disappointed as I need to investigate this in my time off as my partner is fatigued and finding it hard to have his kind quiet voice heard. Thankyou for listening to me. Have a great weekend.

Hi @TAB ,
Hi I thought I had mentioned my partner not my ex partner was hospitalised for cellulitis. Inadvertently a fasting blood test was conducted to see if my partner had diabetes as a symptom of diabetes, amongst others is slow healing. Patients are still hospitalised for diabetes complications. Uncontrolled diabetes does have serious health implications so it definately requires hospitalisation in certain situations. I actually said precious partner, he is very much my great support. Not sure I ever said ex partner. Sorry I'm unsure as to the confusion over whether he is my partner. I am ok just disappointed in lack of communication from staff. I have never been present during a Doctor's rounds due to my full time work.

Wow @TAB what a day! No one can say you weren't mentally committed. 50 mins both ways is a big ask. I know people do it everyday & it must be tough! It's so much more difficult tho, when not in routine. Maybe it was good thing, this job helped to show you your limitations, or things that are likely unsustainable if you were to secure a job with more long term goals in mind - if that's something your aiming for. I know the recruiters/Centrelink expect people to take anything offered, perhaps now that you have this experience to go by, you can (attempt!) To more clearly advocate for yourself about physical concerns etc. & wanting a job that is right for you.

Hi @TAB, @MDT, @maddison, @Paulette, @Former-Member and everyone else who passes by (I would tag more people but the @ drop down list only shows the last 5 who commented and I suck at remembering names)
Hope everyone is doing well this morning.
Beginning to wonder what's worse, obstructive sleep apnoea, insomnia or the fact I have both.
Either way getting little to no sleep again so may as well think of something productive to do... or procrastinate on the xbox.
