Re: Good Morning!

well I guess MRE prepacked etc but can make your own these days @Former-Member  yeah, got powdered millk when covid first came out, dont think people know what that is anymore lol, never had trouble getting condensed milk either lol

yeah I remember going to storage room in flats overseas with auntie years ago she had her pushbike in there, but like multiple tyres, tubes, etc etc, was never going to run out. Yes, its a war thing ..

Re: Good Morning!

maybe re set goals @LookingHopeful  I remember telling a dr late 1980s i was upset couldnt afford a house, and now they cost 7 times as much probably.well and still dont have one. had what I thought was a deposit multiple times, but it wasnt enough and I couldnt stay in constant work, so ended up living on money I had every time..

it's one of those things that gets you when other things arent going well, otherwise I dont think about it. Cant afford to. If I cant do it, I cant.

Hope things get better for you 😊

Re: Good Morning!

Thanks @TAB yeap, I agree with you. I thought I had a deposit several times and it was always increasing with what was needed for a deposit and then life happens or we changed jobs (or states!).

And I am really trying to use this as a motivator to actually get out of this place I am in and move closer to family again but you are right, when other things aren't going well I can barely even get my brain to comprehend anything to do with the house goals.

Re: Good Morning!

Sorry you're not doing the best right now @LookingHopeful I hope you are able to find your feet soon 💙 Solfeggios hertz frequencies get me out of all kinds of emotional ruts and its great to have in your wellbeing toolkit 😊  I use them when I can't shake off feeling and emotion that is not good for me

Re: Good Morning!

I think I meant when things not going well for me, then I start worrying about house etc @LookingHopeful  if things going okay enough in life, then owning a house or trying to do something that is out of reach isnt really an issue, have better things to think about

Re: Good Morning!

What do you do with a tube of condensed milk @TAB? I never would have considered it.  I just checked it out on Coles and its just milk and sugar. How would you use it in cooking drinking etc as part of preparedness? I may get some! Its easy to buy and not many people would use it in a tube.  I know I wouldn't normally but am open to possibilities

Re: Good Morning!

look up vietnamese coffee @Former-Member  .. it goes great in coffee.. beats black plus add water guess becomes milk ? just very convenient

I remember my mother caramelising it and making a slice like mars bars lol

Re: Good Morning!

Wow  @Former-Member We only did soprano recorder when I was at school   I am jealous ... a choir and full recorder ensemble.  Must have been a good school or a different one!  Later we just did musicals and private piano lessons for those who paid.

I really liked the selective schools my daughter and nephew went to as the all did massed choir singing.  It was not for the better off .... lol ... though probably quite a few could not stand it ... but it would have been GOOD for them ... like eating their greens .... lol

@TAB We tuned to piano too ... but top & bottom guitar strings were E ...

did not worry about middle C ....

I went from there to a friend who played cello and piano and had a tone generator and other odds from his old job at Radio Australia ... we were excited to see sine waves a 440... must have stuck in my brain ... told you NERD ALERT!

Much Much later, like only 7 years ago, I got into recorders ...

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @TAB ,

great attitude, I need to try that,

i have been really struggling , feeling low and very anxious for a couple of weeks. A lot of the anxiety is about money, or the lack of it and other family issues.  But I do have a house for which I am grateful.
