Good morning and good afternoon forumites!
Just popping in to say hello and to wish you all the best for today whatever you get up to. I'm not travelling well at all today to the point where my voice situation has just cost my tafe course for the rest of the year unfortunately. I'm still going to do uni as I find that easier to handle so I'll go from there.
Have a great day!

Hi @Judi9877 I'm really sorry to hear the impact on your TAFE course 😞
We have spoken this year about how much you value study and learning, and can imagine this would have been a hard decision to step back from tafe at the moment How are you feeling about the decision to step back and just focus on the one area of study at the moment?
Sending thoughts your way today and holding hope for you that taking a step back will mean more time to focus on your wellbeing

Hi @greenpea
Hope I'm not talking too much, as I know that you are getting a lot of suggestions from people wanting to support you. However, I believe that you are receptive to positive observations.
In connection with my comment, yesterday, about mentally handing over responsibility at any stage prior to theatre prep. and preceding anaesthetic, and also @Former-Member 's suggestion of self-hypnosis which I support. This self-preparation process is not something done at a particular moment but can be a continuing part of your own preparation.
When we find ways to relax, and practice those methods, the less stress that our bodies experience before and after any procedure. I believe that relaxation, and the resulting reduction of certain hormones, is a significantly contributing factor to the success and recovery following such procedures.
Consequently, it is not just a matter of making us "feel good" or "ok", but actively reducing the levels of those hormones, which are the same or similar to those acting on us in the "fight, flight" response.
This, I believe, is really important preparation for the process as well as the recovery.
These practices can be used at any time, for the same or similar purposes, and for reducing stress and related hormone levels at any time.
With, as always, My Very Best Wishes
