I think the gifts to myself that I'd like the most are rest and joy.
To that end, I've got a habit of spending any cash gifts on plants... since the garden is a place that holds a reasonable promise of finding both, under the shifting shade of a tree, in the juice running out of a ripe peach, or in the first flowers of a new plant.
I can understand why "first fruits" are celebrated in Judeo-Christian tradition. They're little promises of hopes held for the future.

Giving Gifts to myself - I know it's good & healthy @Shaz51
Does not come easily or naturally - certainly not encouraged by my upbringing.
In fact quite the opposite - "Give to everyone else & be left out" (myself).
Yes the "Come on Inner Peace, I do not have all day".
Good saying - I've posted that one on Forums before.

My gift to myself is to keep making time to get to the pool and swim, and if I can't go sit near the river in the park. Swimming works the body and muslces that I cannot do on land. It is also good mentally because I can usually manage to block out everything but the sounds and feel of the water. The park near the river has birdlife, trees, kids laughing and playing, and places to sit and read, colour, write etc.

Can relate @Adge re childhood message of putting self last.
I am working to unlearn that one.
My gift to myself would be balance.

@Appleblossom @Jacques @Smc @Bunniekins and friends
I am not good at remembering people to tag, but to everyone who wants to be, count yourself included ![]()

Hearing you @Snowie @Bunniekins
I am letting go of those I can't help, the things I can't change.
Giving myself the freedom of moving on.
