Re: Craft Corner

@Former-Member I have slight-crafty bones within me! I used to crochet a bit, and know the basics but have many an unfinished blanket hanging around. I'm just staring at these amazing crochet boots though!!

Re: Craft Corner

Aren't they amazing @Former-Member, I'm wondering if @CheerBear will choose those. It will be interesting to see what she says when she gets back here.

Feel welcome to share your projects here Scout, and maybe we can all motivate each other to treat ourselves to more crafty moments! Heart

Re: Craft Corner

You are fab @Former-Member thanks! I am so looking forward to sitting and going through your finds properly 😊 I'm after an indoor pair of snuggle socky thingamajigs I think (whatever they may be!). Will have a proper look through the links cheers!

I'm having trouble with basket girl. Have you made her before? (I'm also way too 😝 to try to work her out right now so socks/slippers it is).

Here's some tweed goodness 😍

They are seriously cool and snuggly looking @Former-Member ☺ Love the yarn too!

(Ps SunShower "Heavens to Murgatroyd" - that's a new one for me! Love it 😁)

Re: Craft Corner

Hey there @CheerBear so good to see you here.

No, sorry, i have not made basket girl, but, I have the pattern to hand if you want to ask a question some time, and maybe with an image of what the issue is, I might be able to assist, or offer a work around, or find corrections - I'll look for any corrections for you in the mean time anyway.

"Heavens to Murgatroyd" and also "Heavens to Betsy" come from the show Snagglepuss, the affectation of ending a sentence with 'even', as in "Somebody hurt! In dire pain, even!" (wikipaedia) is from the same show.

Waiting for the image to clear ....

My favourite is this pattern, are these slippers - grammar ... so much so that I may, may I say, make some for myself.

Yeah I think I will @Former-Member and take some shots of my brilliant (unfinished) art Smiley HappySmiley Tongue

BTW @CheerBear , I found this - not sure about the dimensions but it's better than nothing!

Heavens to Murgatroyd!!

Re: Craft Corner

OOh, nice tweed @CheerBear definitely boot/ slipper worthy there. Looks like wool or a wool blend too. Nice. Can't wait to see/hear what you thnk about the linky patterns and if you want me to look for more.

@Former-Member What a delightful bear, beautifully executed! Lovely colours. Do show us more when you can, if you want to, of course.

Back to relaxing to settle this stupid head pain. Can't even do my crochet 'cos the brain won't count properly and there's a pattern to keep to for this one ...sigh...

Re: Craft Corner

Thanks for offering to help out with basket girl @Former-Member. I'll see if I can work out where I am going wrong, enough to ask your thoughts some time thanks ☺ (this is so me 😁 at having such an experienced crochet person to bounce ideas around with!)

LOVE those slippers too! They look so warm. Great spotting with the blend - it's a wool/acrylic blend. Shame you can't have wool. It's so warm and nice feeling when it's a nice blend I think. I want to make matching socks for a sibling who has been bitten by a love bug. When I spent time with them recently they were constantly cuddling under a blanket together and asking each other if they were warm enough. So I have to give them a pair of cuddle socks each (haha 😆). It's sickly (but sweet).

Sorry your head hurts 🙁 Hope it settles soon. I'm not feeling crash hot this afternoon and it's making my afternoon annoying. Early night for me I think.

Looking forward to seeing some (unfinished) art sometime if you share it @Former-Member ☺ That's a very cool looking Snagglepuss (if I Googled that correctly)!

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear and @Former-Member (That totally wasn't my own Snagglepuss-art, it was the result of Googlinghehe )

Re: Craft Corner

I had a feeling that might have been a Google one when you said you weren't sure of the dimensions @Former-Member ☺

There are some incredible crochet character creations out there! Aside from a mermaid psychiatrist, I am yet to not find something someone has made when I've gone looking!

Re: Craft Corner

Gosh I'm sorry @Former-Member it didn't click until I'd left the forum that it was Snagglepuss not a bear! Too much brain pain - it'll pass. It's the fallout from yesterday's stress - takes me about 3 days to get over the pain caused by the muscle spasms of that level of anxiety, even with meds. I day down. I'm using it as an excuse to treat myself to some different treaty food within my proper limits but still stuff I don't normally have. I'm thinking about you Caramel Magnum ... Smiley Wink

Since you've said the pattern you wanted was for snuggle boots, @CheerBear I just wanted to show you this cutest of Norwegian patterns for handholding gloves. Of course why wouldn't they have patterns for them. Love it!

handholdinggloves1.jpg Shared glove from a 'set' I guess as it's not a 'pair' technically.

handholdinggloves2.jpg and here's the set. Such cuteness.

Ummmm @CheerBear I found a real mermaiding psychologist ....
