Re: Craft Corner
No such thing as a stupid question @BlueBay ❤ I have only done a few but I got them from a nursery. I asked if I could have a couple for painting and they were really happy to let me take some for nothing. I think @Maggie has done the same thing.
Are you thinking of having a go? Very exciting if yes 🙂

Re: Craft Corner
@BlueBay, you can also use artist canvas and paint with black gesso. That fills in the small gaps in the canvas so your paint sticks better. Not sure if you need more than 1 coat though.
Sparkle-boots @CheerBear did some beautiful ones on them.
No silly questions, but, you could get some silly answers! 🙂

Re: Craft Corner
Haha you made me laugh! Sometimes (like today) I regret my choice of forum name as I'm not always CheerBear-ish. But I think I'll always be SparkleBoots 😁

Re: Craft Corner
You could always change your name @CheerBear ! I think most of us would connect the dots pretty easy!! 😉
I did wonder if you and @Maggie boots have seen the spray paint techniques that some artists use for making stars? They basically have a black background, spray paint onto a finger and then flick it onto the canvas / background.
I made one 'space scene' on a small canvas and used/tried the technique. Turned out alright, although I did get some fairly big stars. I had trouble with the nozzles on the spray paint I bought, they only had limited spray range instead of normal output.
I thought the stars might be something different and add to the background that you normally have. Could also look goofy.

Re: Craft Corner
Ohhh @Gazza75 thanks so much for that info. I will try to pick up a battery pack when I'm in town today. I have to do grocery shopping and if I go to a particular supermarket, I walk right by a BigW. And I'm glad to hear that you also got a new package in your mail too. Incidentally, I checked off my two DPs and one of them were missing a pack of drills. I emailed the company I got them from and they were really good and said they would send them immediately. I checked them all off three times to make sure, but they definitely were not there. So its the Marilyn painting which were missing the drills (the red ones for her mouth, of all things ... pretty vital). I will therefore be commencing with the bridge out onto the water one with the birds in the background and the sun setting. Its the one I was intending to do for my brother. My Dad's Marilyn will be next cab off the rank, once I get those missing drills. My Dad is not well actually, and is off to the Dr today.
Hi @BlueBay , I'm glad you are taking an interest in some of the craft ideas. Have you done anything since the baby blankets? Which, incidentally, were gorgeous.
Sherry 😊

Re: Craft Corner
Hi @Former-Member I've lost all motivation and enjoyment to do anything. I'm running on empty atm. I feel "what's the point"
but I thought I could do some painting rocks with my granddaughter. She would love it.
I don't know everything seems to hard at the moment. Xxx

Re: Craft Corner
@Former-Member, BIg W will have them for sure. They will be near the computer gizmo things. Well done on finding the missing pack of beads, i don't really check them off like I should. I have been a few beads short on 2 of my paintings so far. The planet one I was 1 short on an orange. I am keeping all my leftovers from now on.
Here is 2 of the 3 I got yesterday. Probably a few weeks away from staring them. It's the 2nd bottle I have had, the first had a ruined canvas and I got a refund for it.
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he gets better soon. I got a big smile hearing how excited Holly got to see you on your return home. I bet she's probably still perky and like a 2nd shadow to you. 🙂

Re: Craft Corner
@BlueBay - yes I understand the lack of motivation along with the 'whats the point'. Its hard fighting that isnt it? But its important we keep doing so. I agree ... I'm sure little A would adore painting rocks. Hopefully you can obtain some and give it a go. Remember to post the finished product here, wont you?
@saturnzoon - Thank you, yeah my dad has been struggling the last week or so at home, so clearly he isnt feeling well. Turns out he has some sort of infection in his feet/legs which makes his mobility even more difficult than usual. So he needs daily nursing care and monitoring. As a respite bed became available, they decided to recommend that. Since Dad agreed to go in, its a good indication that he isnt well.
