I started watercolour painting recently in the hope to drag me out of a major depressive slump, was really tough to begin with Im talking months to even be able to pick up paintbrush so much fear of failure . I finally did it and made myself go to some painting classes to get me out of the house also tough. I’m liking having colour in my home again.

Hi @outlander, thanks for refreshing this post! It’s been ages since I’ve said hello.
I’ve been doing a few different crochet and knitting projects. I wanted to try making a colourful crochet shirt for a dress up party…it’s turned out more like a cardigan bc of the wool thickness. I loved making it though, even if I never wear it, because I just randomly added different colours, and it’s got bright pink trim around the edges! It uses granny stitch all the way around and is made in 2 hexagon pieces. I also made some crochet slippers (they’re very slippery on tiles…is that why they’re called slippers? 😅), and I made this little crochet teddy bear for my son’s 17th bday…first toy I made that turned out in the right proportions. I really love it. Now I’m working on a dog jacket, picked up knitting needles for this one. It’s only been in the last 2 years that I started making actual ‘things’ and finishing them off. Before that I just crocheted squares and rectangles to keep my hands busy but never wanted to make anything.
I’ve found lots of free patterns on the internet, but also Ravelry and Etsy are good.
