Today I walked down to the local shops down the road from me to buy fresh vegetables from the market for the cottage pie I'm making tonight, this is the first time since my accident! A milestone in my foot recovery! I did it!!

Hi @Rosepetal96
That is such an incredible achievement!
It sounds like for quite some time after the accident, you were unable to walk down to the shops to buy the things you needed, but today you were able to do it, which is just stunning and I'm so proud!
I hope you enjoy making the Cottage Pie, that is certainly a favourite dish of mine.

@Shaz51 I love coffee and tea! I have had to cut down on it though due to my stomach ulcers though and also does exacerbate anxiety, but I do always look forward to my one approved cup of coffee in the morning! Just had a herbal tea before though , meant to be natural anti inflammatory for my foot as it swells with normal use, it's justpart of the healing process.

@MatchaToad thank you so much! It was a massive achievement for me! I've been on 4 months leave of absence as my job I usually work on my feet all day, but this injury has been massive and impacted everything in my life, so I've had to relearn how to walk again, and maybe the full recovery could be a whole year. But I'm so stoked to be able to go out in the sunshine for a walk and breathe in fresh air, do physiotherapy, and go to the market. The goal is to return to work in the new year, with regular breaks as necessary.
Also, cooking has been a helpful mental health strategy for me, focusing on cooking draws me away from unhelpful thoughts and feelings. So I'm excited to try making the cottage pie.
I love your user name by the way. Do you also enjoy matcha?

That is simply amazing news! I'm so proud of you for relearning how to walk, that takes so much strength and resilience.
It's truly wonderful that you're now able to get out in the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air, do physio and go to the market. Those small victories are so important for your mental and physical health. Wishing you all the best as you continue your physiotherapy and work towards returning to work in the new year with the necessary breaks!
I am so glad to hear that cooking is helping you with your mental well-being!
And thank you for the compliment on my username! I do love matcha a lot, it's certainly an acquired taste with people calling it grass haha, but I oddly like it.

@MatchaToad , thank you! Your support means a lot! I also enjoy matcha! It does have an earthy taste but it's bursting with antioxidants and has l-theanine which helps make you feel calm and relaxed 😌 I found myself a convert this year, and learnt to make myself matcha lattes at home during all my free time
