@Gremlin24 *sigh* my uncle tagged me on a post on Facebook that I don’t even…like wanna care about or whatever and I feel that based on the post he’s tagging me, I feel that he’s trying to get me to change my mind on it because the way he thinks about certain things is completely different to what my perspectives on certain things are due to our cultural differences.. and I sent him some messages on Facebook messenger about it since I don’t get the point of him tagging me on it and expect me to change the way I think when it’s clearly deemed unacceptable in the progressive world we live in today vs the fact that it’s still considered acceptable within that conservative country/culture of my ethnic background.
Well I sure hope that it doesn’t mean he’s trying to get me to change my mind on it because I swear to god if that is the intention he’s trying to do, then ….*deep breaths* AAAAAARGH!!😡🤬
Sorry If this doesn’t really make sense as I didn’t really wanna mention what exactly it is, but hopefully you’ll get the picture.

@Blackcloud omg that's incredibly frustrating and I really hope he's not trying to make you change your mind. I understand cultures have their specific ways but at the same time the world has changed and everyone has the right to have a say in how they are and how they want to live their life.
Take a breath and just focus on yourself, try to not let it get to you. We are here for you ❤️

@Gremlin24 exactly!! In fact I’m actually grateful that I was born and raised in a culture that’s more progressive and aware of things than a country that’s the opposite to that because hell imagine if I was to be born and raised in that country, I do not want to think about it.
Thank you, I’m trying to calm myself down a bit. I’ve just unsent most of my messages that I initially sent to him on Facebook messenger (plus he hasn’t read them yet) since I’ve figured that it’s not worth continuing to waste my time and energy trying to argue with someone.
Actually, perhaps I should mention it now that we’re here. So basically he tagged me on a post that has a caption of “age is just a number” and on that post there were pictures of couples that had each of the individuals ages displayed within them, and all of the couples there were like around 4 years apart (but most if not all of the females there were older than their male partners), so not sure what point he’s…trying to prove to me with that one. I told him last time I’d be looking for someone whose 1 or 2 years older than me since last time he found me a guy whose 8-9 years older than me which I eventually got mad at him for and (gladly) he accepted my refusal/rejection for that guy, so yeah.

@Blackcloud yeah that's definitely a bonus. But even if he's trying to send a hint to you that you should change your mind then that's really just not acceptable.
I wouldn't give him the time and energy to try to argue with him about it to be honest. I get it's hard to not want to react to it. Good on you for unsending your messages. Focus your energy on yourself 🙂.
Focussing on age differences in relationships seems like such a silly thing to me. I mean I've always had guys that were older than me (not that it's ended well for me) but that doesn't mean that i wasn't open to someone younger than me either. I've given up on relationships all together now, I've been hurt way too many times. I'm so glad you stood up for yourself and please continue doing that, you deserve to do things on your terms and how you want.

@Gremlin24 💯 and not to mention my mum’s the one that wants me to get a “boyfriend” and especially get married in my 20s and I have had arguments with her a couple of times regarding that, which explains around the things I was telling you about yesterday ( it was actually this exact situation) of her getting me into a situation I don’t wanna face and me knowing what action I need to take (such as calling the Australian federal police) if I do end up facing a situation in the future where she’ll make me marry a guy of our ethnic background before I turn 25/26 or something.
Yeah, the thing is I’ve never been open to being in relationships since I’m already aware of the risks/cons involved when it comes to being in a relationship. Plus, I’ve never had any real and long lasting friends that I can always stick with for a long time to the point where they would ever introduce me to a guy that they’re also friends with one day. Also, my mum tends to sometimes tell me that I need to be open to talk to people and smile at everyone when I’m in school or something even though she’s already aware of how long I’ve always struggled to properly socially interact with peers in any social settings, yet she ignores that and just tells me that I need to be more confident and open with talking to people and stuff. And I know that part of that has to do with the part that she wants me to get a partner in my adult life, but I still wish she can change her mindset of people needing to get married within their 20s specifically.
