Wow @Ainjoule
You have had a lot going on.
I would encourage you to make an appointment with your GP to get a new psychiatrist referral. Unless you are going through the public clinic, then they should just move you to a new doctor.
As for NDIS sometimes you just have to be proactive and make sure the meeting for the review is scheduled. I have a support worker who helps me do this but if you don’t have a support worker you would need to do that. I suggest you call the NDIS sooner than later. They are tightening the budget so probably wont chase you

Oh my dear @Ainjoule , I'm so sorry it's been so hectic for you! I can see how stressful everything is, especially if you have been with this psychiatrist for 26 years! In a way, I feel this is the beginning of another revolution in the MH space in NSW, but it doesn't take away the fact that you are all left up in the air in terms of your treatment.
I'm imagining that a lot of case managed clients have just been 'let go' too... but I can see this may mean a pool of very unwell people are left to fend for themselves.
I'm hearing about your NDIS too.
So breaking this up, what is your next step (if you have one)?

Hehehe I like your sassy pants @avant-garde hope they regret messing you about!!

What a fascinating read, the post you linked, @PeppyPatti.
Yes or no?
I shall look up the expert you mentioned, too!
How's your evening going?
My psychiatrist just came to see me for the first time this admission, it was rushed. Afterwards, he was going to grocery shop and get home to cook dinner for his kids.

I didn't get to show my sass! I emailed them and they're giving me a complete refund...
I also get a hamper for leaving a review... I gave them 4 stars rather than 5 but I think that's fair, given they didn't really do anything I came in for...

Hey @Oaktree
Thanks....yeah, I can't really afford a private psychiatrist. They said I will initially see the psychiatrist associated with the team I'm assigned too, but my schizoaffective disorder has been relatively well managed for a while. So my case manager is saying without the protection of my former psychiatrist they will kick me off case management until I get bad again and then they might pick me up again. I also don't know where my medication is going to be administered, because I'm on an injection which gets administered by the local community mental health clinic. I have been calling the NDIA, they are just saying they should have called. I'm working with my support coordinator to chase them. But as you can imagine nothing happens fast with them. I will keep chasing them. I did make an appointment with my GP today, I have to wait a few weeks but at least it is made.
Hey @tyme
Thanks....my next step is to get a mental health plan and hope that I can go back to a psychologist that bulk bills. Hopefully get some support that way. I had still a little bit of funding left on my last NDIS plan that expired today, so my support coordinator is saying that at midnight that will auto extend and I can use the last little bit of my funding while I am waiting for them to do a reassessment. But I cancelled my support for tomorrow just in case it doesn't auto-extend, I guess I will find out after midnight.

I'm sorry you have to face this predicament @Ainjoule
Please know we are here to cheer you on and provide the psychosocial support you might need at this moment.

It's a dental surgery... I doubt it will be food... it will probably be a whole lot of merchandise from their sponsors... and likely a toothbrush...
