Re: Best Friends Club
What's your fav way to have coffee @Shaz51? Ooh I think I remember you got an actual esspresso machine, no?
I just upgraded to French Press! I got rid of mine cos I stopped drinking coffee for a bit. Then started buying those instant coffee sachets.... and after a while they started getting kinda gross! One op shop trip later and I got me some nice ground coffee and now no more weird film on my tongue 😅

Re: Best Friends Club
The coolest thing about coffee as we get older and Iv lost heaps of weight is that:
I only have/need one half strength for the day whereas when younger, I drank about `10 a day.
No stress thinking : I can have that coffee into an iced coffee
Instant coffee for an iced coffee and one scoop of ice cream.…..mmmmmm

Re: Best Friends Club
Well that was a beeping waste of time and money.
I went in for emergency treatment, and let me just say that the government clinic was never meant to give me the voucher in the first place because I wasn't in extreme pain.
The dentist treated it as general! She didn't even fix my broken tooth! and in fact she did a bunch of things THAT AREN'T EVEN EMERGENCIES!!!
She did a "clean and polish" and then I find meat stuck in my teeth after, I mean what the quack!
They tried to give me a fluoride treatment and the texture, oh my goodness, familiar in a REALLY REALLY bad way! I spat it in the cup and not at her.
Then she tells me to go and get another voucher to get the 3 front teeth fixed, that we're just going to do it all.
I'm sorry but no you're not. I'm sending a complaint to their office and filing a complaint with the relevant government department.
I also have an appointment in a couple of weeks to get the broken tooth fixed.

Re: Best Friends Club
Hey @tyme I've been alright, but a few things have been off kilter. My psychiatrist quit with the public walk out. I had been seeing her for 26 years! And then my case manager is talking about how (without my psychiatrist) I'll be dropped off case management sooner rather than later. And she (my case manager) is talking about retiring as well. And they are saying that I will have to get psych help from my GP, but my GP only works two mornings a week and she is booked up for a while. And then the NDIS were suppose to reassess my plan by today, they sent me a letter in December but they never called a meeting. So I'm not sure what is going to happen. Trying not to freak out. But things are a little stressful. Maybe I should add to my AI story, teehee. Hope things improve.

Re: Best Friends Club
@Spirit_Healer wow thankyou. I'm listening and reading a Psychotherapist called Terry Real. He practices from Boston. He's a couple's therapist
What I like about him is that he emphasises empathy, vulnerability, and mutual respect in creating lasting, loving relationships. He believes in them and he speaks and writes about authenticity and genuine speech last paragraph helped written by ai.
I appreciate his focus on empathy, vulnerability, mutual respect, authenticity, and genuine connection as essential ingredients for healthy, lasting relationships.
The adapted child !! Phew. Iv got ,ai to help me tidy up my learnings on this because iv only been reading and hearing on audible about him in a short while.
- Terry Real's concept of the "adapted child" is how we act when we were children to cope in our environment and get out needs met.
It's very embarrassing to know we are still acting like that but we are older and bigger.
Like - our childhood sounds might be about constant reassurance
Fear of abandonment
Trust.*
Being defensive so - people pleasing.
Conflict
Lashing out
So often I say something to my husband and he misinterprets it and jumps down my throat.
Then I lash out ---
So the other day I say
' hey Mr Rocker, I'm sorry for my part in argument yesterday. I hate arguing with you. I don't want to do it anymore
Your too important to me.
So whako, we aren't arguing ( !!! )
But I do feel this anxiety ........
Remember we are both almost 60 ? Yippee !!!
Well, these are the years where we need to go to the doctors all the time. My husband smokes and lately his besties are dropping around him. Will my husband go to the doctors and get a check up ?
No
Besides that; it's wonderful marriage is very Kool.....
