Would it be a good idea for this site to have a forum for people asking for help and people like me who love the anonyminity but would have loved to help another community member to get her meds one day? Mental health is tough and one day you may be able to help and the next week you may not, but I just have felt the few posts I read and post have helped me connect this year no end, when it was really important. If there was a community notice board of volunteer work (anonymous as it can be I understand once you connect you would end up being able to have anonyminity comprimised).
Suggestions : i could mow a lawn, I could have coffee or a beer with a stranger for an hour, I could help get a kid to the dr during the day, I could mind kids while a mum/dad had a break or be a helper in a house for a few hours, I could data entry, I could assist grocery shopping, anything that doesnt involve critical thinking. The caveat being short random spurts of help where able. I have my own life and kids in school and my own work responsibility so I would always work around those parameters. Between commitments and mental health people like me want to help and whilst I am on the up and up I really want to give back. Too much?
