Good evening @Zoe7 @StuF @Glisten @TAB @Mustang67 @Shaz51 @tyme @Ru-bee @Emelia8 @Lauz and all sports lovers here. I hope you’ve had a great week cheering on your sports teams and players.
Tonight was Week 3 of the AFL finals with Sydney Swans defeating the Port Adelaide Power at the SCG. I chose to watch the game on TV and was pleased to see the swans defeat the power - bad memories of 2004 grand final for this Brisbane Lions girl! This means that Sydney now travel to the MCG to play the winner of the Brisbane Lions vs Geelong Cats match tomorrow afternoon at 5:15pm. I will admit I’m feeling nervous about the game and hope it will go the way of the lions but I’m not certain it can happen. I will be watching the game on TV so I’ll report back later tomorrow night on the final result. If the Lions do make it through to the grand final, I’ll have to adjust my cruise packing and add my lions T-shirt and baseball cap to the suitcase which I’ll be watching onboard Carnival Splendour in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on Saturday afternoon. Let’s go, lions!
The other final that was on tv tonight was the Week 2 of the NRL finals with the Cronulla Sharks taking on the North Queensland Cowboys with the Sharks winning to go on to play Penrith Panthers next week. I’m cheering on the Sharks next weekend as I don’t want face Penrith as they’ve been very good over the past few years. The Melbourne Storm- my team- will play the winner of either the Roosters or Manly in the other final next weekend. I’m hoping for the roosters to win as I’m not a Manly fan. I may have to see if I can watch the match on the cruise ship next Friday or Saturday when they play. Let’s go, Storm! I will be packing my Storm baseball hat to wear on the cruise as well.
That’s all from me tonight.
Take care!

Cheer cheer the red and the white ♥️ 🤍 🦢 🥂 🥳
The Sydney Swans were just too good tonight. Sorry @TAB 😟 I know you will be disappointed with Ports loss tonight. Especially after Port flogged Swans last time we met only a month or so ago. We certainly turned that around.
Hey @StuF I reckon it would have been a very happy SCG crowd there tonight. I trust you thoroughly enjoyed the match. Not the nail biter edge of your seat stuff of two weeks ago, but still exciting.
@Judi9877 as always, thanks for your updates. 👍 I was happy to see Sharks win their Semi tonight too.

Good afternoon @Emelia8 @StuF @TAB @Glisten @Mustang67 @Shaz51 @tyme @Ru-bee @Lauz and all sports lovers here.
I’m back to do my round up of some sports over the last few days.
What a great few days it has been with great results in both the AFL and NRL- especially for me with my Brisbane Lions getting through to the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon against the Sydney Swans at the MCG! Believe it when I say that the match yesterday afternoon against Geelong Cats was both nerve wracking and heart attack style watching it at home on TV here in Melbourne! I know they call the Lions the comeback kings but I still doubted the boys to do it against Geelong given the fact that we hadn’t won against them in 20 years at the MCG, so I was quite happy when they got the job done. The last 20 minutes seemed to take forever to play out and I seriously thought we were done for, especially in the last 5 minutes where Geelong had several options to kick goals but couldn’t convert and only scored behinds instead. To win by 10 points after being down by 19 points at half time was a miracle but considering we were down by 41 last week against the GWS Giants, I still couldn’t believe that we won. Now it’s onto the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon at the MCG against Sydney Swans where I’ll be watching it in the middle of the Pacific Ocean onboard Carnival Splendour. It will be the first interstate grand final since 2006 with the Lions playing the first interstate grand final in 2004 against Port Adelaide. The Lions have only played the Swans once in 1899 when it was Fitzroy Lions against the South Melbourne Bloods with the Lions winning by 1 point at Junction Oval. It should be a great game to watch.Let’s go the Brisbane Lions 🦁!
NRL- Last night saw the Sydney Roosters take on the Manly Sea Eagles with the Roosters coming away as winners in the end. I managed my watch the game from 20 minutes into the first half after switching over the TV from the Lions game and news and was very happy that the Roosters won. They will now take on the Melbourne Storm on Friday night at AAMI Park in Melbourne to try and make it to the Grand Final on Sunday 6 October. The other final is Cronulla Sharks taking on the Penrith Panthers on Saturday night to see who makes it to the Grand Final. I’m hoping for a Storm vs Sharks Grand Final. Let’s go Melbourne Storm💜⚡️!
That’s all from me! I hope your favourite teams and players/athletes win over the next week, with the Lions coming out victorious on Saturday afternoon!

I admire your passion for your team @Mustang67 😆 but I hope you are wrong about Penrith winning (again). I think it's bad for the league for any one team to dominate. 3 years is more than enough! We need to see other teams start to come through.
My team (Raiders) is already out and of those remaining, I would rather see Cronulla win. But their chances are remote.
In the AFL my team (Swans) will be playing in the GF on Saturday. And I'm hoping they can come out on top this time. Their last Premiership was in 2012.
@Judi9877 I know you will be barracking passionately for your Lions. I just hope it's a great game.
I think @Zoe7 will also be going for Brisbane. I know you were not expecting your Lions to get past the semis, so they have already exceeded your expectations.
Hope it's a good, clean and fair game with no injuries. May the best team win.

Hi @Emelia8 I can totally understand where you are coming from. But this year the Panthers haven't been as dominant as they were last year. I just would like them to achieve something that hasn't been achieved before, as a reward for their hard work.
I watched an interview with Jarome Luai who is going to the Tigers next year and his main reason for leaving was because he wanted more of a challenge in a team that is not always at the top of the ladder. And I have never really looked at it from that point of view. It is great that he wants to challenge himself and keep improving.
And I am sure with all the stars in Penrith that they probably couldn't afford to keep him anyway.
