TI RESIDENTS
First thing that comes to my mind as I type is ...Torres Strait Islanders are known for strength and family bonds and togetherness .. probably not related to our TI but thought I'd share that.
@Phoenix_Rising So glad to read your response re the rules.
In part, my feelings exactly, I may have even posted about the issues with different connotations of a word being personal, so its important to check and not presume when things get "delicate".
Rules that ENSURE SAFETY and make people feel safe are important. I would not want to destabilise that experience for you.
I have just had too many scenarios with too many different AND conflicting rules AND no voice or opportunity to discuss them. SO this is a FIRST for me. I raise an issue, and I was tentative in that [post as I did not want you to get triggered. I just wanted to discuss it. As you and @Spookytookims had established we should discuss rules at first gave me courage that it would be alright.
I have net connection issues for a while so slow in responding. Also I have some major Family issues going on so will withdraw and not post too much for a while until things settle. I will try and respond to all my tags though.
Gentliegh Bentleigh .. unless there is a good party on ... then

I don't think you hurt anyone @outlander, maybe your confusing hurt with concern. We care about you is all 🙂

Torres strait islander @Appleblossom Very much related to TI. I'm drawing from my formative years and I grew up in PNG did not move to Australia until I was @outlander 's age.
I am more melanesian than anything. Specifically Tolai. Which is closer to Solomon Islands than Torres strait but also spent time in Daru and Port Moresby. So those are my type of rules, which is basically no rules except logic of being free and don't harm. Everyone equal. Money doesn't exist, no banks or politics beyond a very basic form of almost non interventionalist governance.

Being free. Dont harm. Everyone Equal.
I can get behind those rules. No problem.
I am not of koori background (probably??) but my dad introduced me to many and I always have a heart thing about the issues. Also in orphanage times my first friend was koori .. Because I have had to peel everything back to basics I simplify rules back to necessity and survival. I am also used to standing up for people who inadvertently break rules because of trying to keep up when facing disadvantage. So I believe in being forgiving about broken rules unless the person is deliberately carrying on for silly or selfish reasons. Mostly I am too soft.
SO glad you told us. @Spookytookims I was going from the silly similarity of the TI initials. Trying to find an in that was inclusive and an argument from my understanding of things.
I stick to the traffic light analogy about the necessity of some rules in human society ... but dont usually push the point.
Hey where there are no cars and no banks .. it is paradise ... so we can get on and dont even need the bloomin things.
It makes sense about your whole approach and with the pictorial aspect too.
I hope your wonderful raft provides heaps of opportunity for freedom & adventure when rule bound systems get too nutty for you.
I also get the concept that CLARITY about EXPECTATIONS in the form of RULES can provide a feeling of security.
This painting is called "Door of Percetion" by Henri Rousseau.
I am starting a new love affair with vervet monkeys at our zoo ... so thats why I like the pic .. but others might read different things into it.
Cheers All.
