Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

How are you @Shaz51 ? My cats seem to be settling down for the evening (heater on and comfy cushions)

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

Hiya @Dimity I guess I've taken a cue from your cats cause I'm already snuggled in bed! Lol. Hope you are well xx

Happy Monday to you and all 🙂

Re: Writing As A Form Of Therapy

Here because I want to write something that an anonymous person on the other side of the screen will hear and maybe relate to. Feel like writing some things that I do not really want known, or attibuted to me. Personal things that make me feel vulnerable.

This forum is good that way, likely for many of us.

Like when sometimes in real life I've had very intimate and revealing conversations with strangers, each of us sharing some of the deeper hidden experiences we've had, things we might not say to anyone else. Somehow easier to do this with a stranger who we will never see again.

I have come to this thread to write like this over a number of years, sometimes fairly regularly. There have been long times of not visiting at all. Still, I love that @Silenus created this years ago.

Aside from the more direct, personal journal writing I've done here occasionally, mostly I've written 'spontaneous poetry'. I like poetry because it can allude to experiences that in a way are beyond words. Hinting at meanings that we feel deeply, or wonder about, but do not have the words to say.

Or the words we have for them do not reach the deeper truths of our real human experience.

Here's a spontaneous poem...

words fail me

soul finds me

world shines me

feet stride me

organs pump me

blood warms me

hips groove me

breath sighs me

heart loves me

all are me.

@Mazarita
Do like!

I have another poem to share. Definitely not spontaneous.

I'm trying to not post too much, but this poem is special to me- I wrote it for a great mate that died of cancer February last year. It has come to mind again because another mate is currently participating in a "Shitbox Rally" raising funds for the Cancer Council...
Anyway, here it is:

Here & Now

That fleeting moment of eternity

Energy transformed, never lost

Recycled spontaneity

Erupts into expectant skies

-

An indelible impact on time and space

A secret tattooed on a tongue

A life lived in technicolour

Ever avoiding monochrome

To comprehend the impossible

One might resort to fantasy

All the while collapsing

Under the weight of desperation

But your obstinate refusal

To succumb to circumstance

Helped define your attitude

Of vigour and valour in equal parts

-

Here is an opportunity

Now is a vacant page

Memories sustain the fires

Set by ferocious dreams
