Withdrawal Safety Net Roll Over

I want to start by saying I knew the roll over was coming and I would need to pay for my meds again PBS but between missing a dose already and my brain damage and it just being a busy time I forgot, we were also stretched thin I missed we hadn't put money aside we I did have the script in hand which I promptly lost it on the bus any way but didn't realise it for 5 days so it took 7 days to get money and new script and the meds by that point I was having withdrawals.
This was the first time I have ever had any medication withdrawals, (not a recreational user) so this was new to me, when they say agitated I outloud needed 5 minutes to work through a conversation because the snap wasn't what I really wanted to say it was just all I could express for the first time in a couple days.

There has been a persistent headache for actually going on 3 days now, I should deal with that.

Nausea and I never get nausea so that was clear that something was wrong it was more than just missing a dose.

I have Anxiety but also bad Disassociation My partner drove us to his appointment and I was not engaged nearly 80% of the 1.5hr drive remuniating was bad at home too.

Worse one was just pins and and needles and the occasional jolt I thought it was from coming back to the gym but apparently that is consistent with these meds withdrawal.

I have seen a doctor today and got the go ahead to go back on the meds, which I'm very glad to do the past week has been a slog of Insomnia and just barely present.

I will say the only benefit was I could see the difference in my sex life which is good I can let my doctor know for certain the meds do interfere with that.

I did not enjoy this week I'm eager to get back to my recovery journey I'll feel more myself and awake. I don't recommend stopping meds suddenly, I should have contacted my doctor sooner, leaned on some support networks that I have for a bit of financial assistance.

I will say thank gosh for the Safety Net last year I got it before June it has been a lifesaver.

Re: Withdrawal Safety Net Roll Over

Thank you for sharing @Trickster .  Sounds like it's been a turmoil for you. I'm glad you have someone to look after you and take you to the dr.

It sure sounds like the safety net was so helpful for you!

Hope things improve for you.

Re: Withdrawal Safety Net Roll Over

Hey @Trickster  hearing you loud and clear how much the safety net can be helpful. I didn’t reach it until much later, but I sure notice the difference in my budget. I also have one med that isn’t covered unfortunately.

are there any organizations local to you that you could go and ask for some help? Even your local community mh service? I know my local one helps some patients, they paid for mine for a period of time too.

it really sucks and is not ideal that people are in positions where they can’t afford life saving medications.
