Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Thanks @outlander
That validation was really appreciated. Yes, abandonment is an issue I struggle with. Because that's what it feels like it is. Even though I can rationalise it and know in myself that that's not really what is happening, I can't stop the overwhelming feelings.
I will get through tonight. I have someone here in the house so I'm less likely to SH like I usually do. However, if the feelings get too intense I sometimes change method as well. But I'll try to talk to you all here first or SCBS.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Hello @Teej
You do often pop up at just the right moment, did you know that? It's really nice to see you again. I've missed you. I getting used to and also liking you being around.
It's hard isn't when things are going along not too badly, and then boom! Everything up ends for a while until it settles again.
How do you control your s urges?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Change is hard, doesnt matter if its good or bad though bad is harder. Allow yourself to adjust to these changes.
@Sans911 do you have a worry box? I wonder if that would help you too?
Ok here or scbs sounds like a good plan

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
@outlander Youโve written so many beautiful and supportive posts lately all over the forum. You possibly have for a lot longer but Iโm just noticing now. Just wanted to let you know Iโve noticed ๐๐ค
@Sans911, @Snowie, @outlander, @Faith-and-Hope. im sorry Iโm in a really strange place lately and really inconsistent on the forum. I truly think of you all often and look to see if youโve posted (although not so much today), but often feel weird about responding. Itโs just my insecurity issues I have to sort. Everyday Iโm experiencing different moods and feeling rather insecure. The posts I find easiest to respond to are the tech ones :face_with_rolling_eyes:. Just a heads up where Iโm at.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
I used to act on the rejection abandonment ones in a big way @Sans911. Fear of abandonment is my biggest trigger easily but itโs quite specifically fear of rejection or abandonment of support people that brings my biggest reactions.
What stops me just now? I had to think ๐ค. Possibly Iโve got some kind of weird almost spiritual hope that I can find myself and be ok with me. This is also petrifying as I know there is not much else to try. I think Iโm just catching myself and trying to distract. In the past the thoughts/feelings would have trumped everything. I feel like Iโm in a strange time warp at the moment. I know the minute future thinking happens Iโm going to have si. I think Iโm trying to block thinking about the future. Itโs taken me years to get to this point.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
I have a dbt app @outlander
which I used to use frequently and basically stopped using. I also wrote in a journal, but I found I was so horribly negative when I read back that I stopped writing in it.
My new pysch has encouraged me to start using the app again. It's actually really good because it is in-depth and there's lots of things covered like how much sleep you got, whether you ate enough, how strong you're urges are, scales for dissociation, etc. So I'm trying to remember to do it each day.
And I have a mood app too, which is quite basic, but I can record activities in it like when I had a shower, when I attended appts and which ones, whether I read, watched a movie, cleaned he house, etc. That's interesting to look back on, which I just did a few minutes ago. Essentially I've had four good days in the last month.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
This month isnt over yet, theres still room for one or 2 more good days but theres no pressure for that either.
I didnt like journalling either. The worry box is different. Its really only a sentence or 2 in the box then usually just that in itself helps. Sometimes i dont look back i just empty the box in the morning or i leave them there until i use the box again.
Its about what works for you though.
