Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!
For a few weeks I have been struggling with a big decision... Choosing my heifer (young female cow). It has been difficult for a few reasons, it is a hard choice to make, it is nerve-wracking choosing while people are watching. It was also hard for me as I have spent most of my life with suicidal thoughts, so I never really made any "long-term" plans for living, and a heifer (and starting my own stud) is definitely a long-term thing.
Any way...
I would like my Sane Family to meet my beautiful girl!!!!
She's only a baby, about 11 months old. I have named her Killara.

Went out to an LGBT fair yesterday (Sunday Funday): partner and I, an old friend, her sister and a couple of people I'd never met. Small crowd in a beautiful park setting. Good singer on the stage delivering classic songs like 'I'm Special' and 'Play That Funky Music'. Saw a 1950s hand-built caravan like a doll's house that had been turned into a retro photo booth. Ate French Canadian cupcakes and just generally enjoyed the colorful social scene. Anxiety ever present but kept mostly under wraps. Sense of achievement in going farther afield than I've been mostly used to in recent years. Taking it easy at home today.

Thanks guys
She picked me as much as I picked her.
She caught my eye as I looked at the littlies in the paddock, and then I went through the herd for a look, and she was following me (from a distance) as I wandered. So I stopped and help out my hand, and she let me touch her nose, and didn't bolt away.
When we had her group in for vaccinating she kept coming back over to the race where we were working. She's such a curious little thing, and her mother is too, and her mother is quite intelligent, and a bit of a pain as a result. So I'm hoping she turns out like her mama.
When we are training and working our show animals, I like the smarty-pants that test you. Keeps me on my toes.
This is when I saw her for the first time.
And she's mine!

weekend plans can be social activities with family/friends, chores, home improvement or that MUCH needed time alone..... or for me weekend plans can often be a simple as going to a new coffee shop or this weekend having picked up a new book that i like, my latest one is a novel, easy to read, takes me away - perfect!
socialising is not for everyone and not everyone has family/friends but hopefully everone has something /some activity in their life that they like to do, something that grounds them and makes them smile...
what do you have??
