Hi folks,
This thread's been a little quiet this weekend, but since I moved to a house in a bush setting, I love sharing what glimpses of wildlife I get when I'm around the house on the weekend. This weekend, we spotted what we think may be bandicoot tracks into a burrow under our house! We also had a kookaburra perch outside our kitchen window and tap its beak on the window to gain our attention! And we had some beautiful crimson rosellas playing in the bushes out the front of our house. Truly beautiful.
I hope whevever you are, you got to see or experience something beautiful this weekend too. xx

Hi @blithe
Good to hear from you. That sounds lovely, I am glad you are enjoying your new location. I just hope that the bandicoot doesn't give way to a wombat trying to move under your house! I have one which tries intermittently in the middle of the night. It is very noisy and not fun. Usually wakes me with a huge fright as it sounds like someone sawing on wood as it tries to dig under the baseboards. Thankfully I know what it is now and I know how to send it on its way (they don't like torches shone at them).
Today we celebrated my son's 18th birthday together at a small family lunch, which was lovely.
Chhers, Kristin

That sounds awesome @blithe!
I've been house-sitting at a farm this week, so I spent the day outside hugging all the donkeys and hissing at the bright sunlight after getting sunburnt at the show yesterday. We got a third place ribbon which was wicked! And everybody behaved brilliantly which was even better.
I had to share a pic of the boys. They love cuddles, carrots, and feed time. Oh my word, everyone in the valley can hear how much they love feed time... 😛

Hi all,
What was the highlight of your weekend?
My was something just really small; I stumbled across this great Youtube clip by Brene Brown on Blame. Informative, interesting and I can totally relate to it.

Hiiiiii!
What did everyone get up to this weekend?
As some of you may know, I'm a bit of a foodie, and I'm not really a fan of cold weather. So combine to these two things together and you get a hankering for comfort food. So I made this, homemade gnocchi with butter sage. I also added in sweet potatoe into my dish. It was delish! Mmmmm.
What did you do?

i hope everyone had an enjoyable and refreshing weekend. It was pretty cold here, but the highlight of the weekend was hosting a family birthday party for my partner's eldest, who just turned 20. It's always a joy seeing the three sisters together enjoying each other's company, and delicious caramel mudcake is a treat too. 🙂

Happy Birthday for last week! I'm glad you had a good day even though it wasn't what you planned. Sometimes they can be the best ones.
Take care,
Kristin

Hi @blithe
I hope you are settling in well.
I was very blessed this weekend by an unexpected gift of 2 ute loads of free firewood. I have been eking out what I had by using just 3-4 smaller pieces on cold nights to take the chill off the house. When I got cold during the day extra jumpers, hot drinks and a microwaved wheat pack up my jumper were my stand-bys. If I can keep that up I might even manage to make it through winter on the wood we've got (and it's mostly dry, not green).
Take care,
Kristin
