Re: Mindfulness Meditation

Hi @Silenus

Today I am doing mindfulness by knitting and listening to relaxing piano music.

Thing is though, I can't do it for a long time.  It's like I can knit a few rows, stop, get up , do something else and then go back to knitting.

That's not being mindful?

Re: Mindfulness Meditation

Hi @BlueBay. 🙂

I don't think the amount of time that you are doing something makes it less or more important. To me, life is about quality, not quantity, and that seems to depart very much from the material and materialistic world around me...

But once again, I digress...

I have stared at a rock or a bush for about a minute, and that has been enough of a moment of Mindfulness for me to carry on with my day in a much better shape. Just a one minute chance to breathe or give my full attention to something, that's all it takes, and it helps so much...

So please, don't see what you have done as a failure, and try not to worry about the quantity of Mindfulness you are doing. It's little quality moments here and there that make all the difference. They can recharge your energy levels, get rid of unwanted nervous tensions (and even anger). Focusing on the breathing can help too...

What you are doing is the equivalent of a Mindfulness power nap... hahaha... and I mean that very much in a good way. It has worked wonders for me, these quick little Mindfulness power naps. I would go as far as to say that they have helped very much to save my life and transform it into something of much greater quality than I previously thought possible...

Stopping for one minute to enjoy a piece of fruit - I like to put a bag of grapes in the freezer during summer months, and then I have a lovely cool healthy natural snack - frozen grapes - to enjoy as a Mindfulness experience...

But I don't have to focus on the Mindfulness. That is just what I am doing - being Mindful without really thinking about it. The only thing I do is to make sure that I am present, that my full awareness is directed at something. When I eat that grape, well, I enjoy and observe and experience it to its fullest. Why live a second-hand life, all caught up and distracted with raging thoughts and emotions? I'd miss out on that wonderful grape then...

Yummy frozen grapes...

Huge huggles, @BlueBay. This is a very difficult journey sometimes. But it can and does get better. Sending you hopes for improvement in all aspects of your life.

And here I am... I didn't even get to the point of answering your question of how I am... hahaha...

Meditation is helpful in improving our wellbeing care; it helps in building strong self confidence. Here are tips for those who are planning to do that https://goo.gl/8wA6W5.

Poet William Arthur Ward is famously known for saying: “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness,” a smile illuminates the face and is a beacon of warmth and welcoming, peter sbaraglia. Despite most of us knowing the power of a warm smile, some people are hesitant to show off their pearly whites due to tooth loss, discoloration, or some other oral health issue.
