Re: Living with Ourselves
Oh thank you so much...that is what I have been trying to set up and all that I can see is a gate with flowers...
so I can now breathe calmly...stop chastising myself for my ongoing lack of connection with computers...

Re: Living with Ourselves
hello @outlander
I am not sure if the notification thingies are working properly or not....it might just be me of course...
I am better than I was two days ago....I just had to go through those emotions and I made it out the other side..
physically I am struggling with secondary complex symptom as a result of pain killers....it is under control but stopping me from going too far...
there is a market on that I would like to attend to....about a 15min to 20 min drive further out in the country...my sense of direction is just non-existent so lady told me just stick to one particular road....of course husband has told me today..."no no that is not a good road to drive on...go this way....I got the map up on the computer and showed him that his way is far longer and does not take me directly there....so I have printed off a map...
I am still trying to convince myself to leave the house....I have some back pain as well ...as have weaned self off pain killers...sitting too long this morning has not helped either..
so procrastinating...is it worth the drive....will I be able to find somewhere to sit...? blah blah blah
how about yourself....how are you managing with your pain? along with everything else that is going on around you...

Re: Living with Ourselves
Hi @Sophia1
They are truly beautiful pictures - thanks for sharing them - I love books, flowers and cats myself - my favourites perhaps
It's a very special way of showing your feelings - and your new avatar -
I love elephants too - I saw the Asian Elephants in the Taronga Park Zoo has year and felt a little sad - the only way I can see elephants right now is in a zoo - and I would really like to see African Elephants
Keep on keeping on Sophia

Re: Living with Ourselves
thank you for all responses....I am not getting notifications with the bell since I changed my avatar!
I seriously cannot be trusted to be let loose on a computer!
whatever...
I have an affinity with elephants and their family loyalty....I read an amazing novel a while back about when an elephant dies...the mother continually stays by the side of her lost one....she then pushes the body under a tree....covers the body with leaves....stays for a longer period....revisits over and over knowing the very spot...
I too love the large ears on the african elephants..
I have been to Taronga Zoo ...last time over 20 years ago......I was affected by the elephants and the area they lived in...they were swaying and rocking from side to side....I picked up their distress and don't like zoos....the wildlife parks are better where animals have more room to roam.

Re: Living with Ourselves
I agree about zoos @Sophia1 - I felt okay about the females - one had a calf and the two females were able to stay a long way from the tourists - and that's what I was - a tourist of course - but for the male wandering in and out of his shelter I felt like crying
I felt the same way about the silver-back gorilla too - he looked bored out of his brain
The meerkats were fine - acting as they would in the wild I think - but nevertheless I thought about this and my conclusion - we do need to preserve some of our animals - endangered through loss of habitat, predation and human diseases
I didn't stay at the zoo for long - I felt too much torn in two ways - the animals are well cared for but humans are so selfish in our collective need to take over the planet
David Attenborough has done so much informing us about the situation - let's hope people are hearing him
Great chatting Sophia
