Re: Living with Ourselves

Good morning! @tonys How was love on the spectrum? I've been meaning to start watching it for a while now but have never actually gotten around to it.

A peer support worker is someone who works to support other people (mentally, physically, spiritually or emotionally) and aims to help them in their recovery or their every day life. It can mean so many different things to many different people, but to me it is supporting the people around me at work (members, clients, participants and my work colleagues) in any way that I can. There are a lot of elements to it!

Something about myself is that I love to bake - I've just made some gingerbread cookies the other day and will make a pavlova for Christmas Eve. What is a fact about yourself?

Loving these questions, have a great day!

Re: Living with Ourselves

@amber22   Peer support worker,  .....  there you go...     I pictured you shaping concrete and setting stones to hold all the bridges up.    Two skillsets,   one purpose,        Heaven is not the sole nesting ground of angels.      The healing trade ,    the true meaning of Christmas.

I can smell those cookies you lovingly baked from here,    and pavlova,  I had one in an out of body experience long ago.   Thank you.

I now know what you like,      and i know what you do,

but its only one page in the story of you.

Such is the nature of the world we have built that i know your time must be apportioned and then one day we find ,  we rushed through the time given us.  Take time for yourself first,   and then maybe one day when the rain sets in,   some more pages .... maybe

As for me you ask,     These forums filled with thousands of folks trying to put their broken puzzles back together,       Maybe I'm just the shape in the in the old dark coat thats made up of all the left over pieces.......

Christmas        ... Good families feasting and the carols they sing.

So lets not reveal      and ruin a good thing.

Sorry amber,     Humour,        its in my defence swag..

You  have a great Christmas   mate,   My guitar is giving the unleash me look.

Till next we meet

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Jacques

Thank you again for your letter.

I read between your words how strongly you want to help your partner and her girls in every way imaginable.

You say that you have always wanted to be a parent.

I believe that you are parenting them in your way now. Having such strong feelings conveys this strongly to me.

You do not have to be a birth parent to be a parent.

My second husband has two adopted sons.

You do not have to adopt either.

Your love and support; presence in their lives whether they accept it always is part of parenting in a special way.

You have a special, beautiful quality within you that provides that.

Please stay safe and be kind to yourself also as must I during this mad season.

Your friend

Oh if I have not already mentioned.

You are one of my family of friends on here also.
