Thank you for sharing that @Judi9877 I'm sorry you're struggling but well done for being proactive with self care.

It's too hot for knitting here but I will sew up a blanket for my gs to keep ccupied.

Take care 🧡💚

Re: Knitting

Hi @Eve7 @Gwynn @Shaz51 @Former-Member @BlueBay @Paperdaisy @Daisydreamer and all knitters here. How are things going in your knitting world?

Tonight, I managed to finish off another beanie for charity to add to my large donation bag of beanies and other things like scarves which I found whilst cleaning up my bedroom and loungeroom today. I have to start to pack up our rental property to move by early February as my housemate and I have been told the lease won't be getting renewed so it was a perfect time to go through my knitting projects and bags of yarn to see what I've got where in terms of projects on the go and yarn available that I've got and can use instead of buying more which is a bad habit of mine when deciding to start new projects, despite having lots on the go already. I've found many partly completed projects so I'm keeping them aside to look at completing once uni is finished for the year and also to pack some away for later once I get a new property and am moved in. I'm keeping some yarn out as well for current projects like my Mental Health Recovery Blanket and my Self Care Squares blanket that I'm still working on. See below for the photo of the beanie!624D259C-0CB5-41BD-80CE-EAE9912B8A2D.jpeg

I hope you like my beanie! I'll still keep the knitting needles out to make more beanies whilst I'm packing up as I find knitting beanies a great way of coping with stress and my mental health issues so that's important that I have my 4.5mm knitting needles nearby and ready for action, especially when it does get time to officially move to the new property in February or whenever we get a new property (I hope soon before we officially move out so I don't have to live with my sister as she can't understand my knitting obsession and my yarn collection!).

Have fun knitting forumites!

Re: Knitting

I love the colours @Judi9877! 🙂

Re: Knitting

@Judi9877 I tend to bounce from project to project, and found one where I can use all my off cuts and left over yarn ahead of Christmas 🙂

I used all my off cuts to make little Christmas Santas and will make them into tree decoration gifts for friends and family. Finally got some more red yarn so the hats look more Christmas like 😄

Re: Knitting

Hey @Judi9877  do you or anyone else have a knitting pattern for a beanie for a premie baby?  (25 weeks )

Re: Knitting

Hi @BlueBay @Gwynn @Daisydreamer @Eve7 @Shaz51 @Ripples @Appleblossom @Former-Member @Paperdaisy and all knitters here. I'm just checking in to see how each of you are going with your wonderful creations!

@Daisydreamer I love your little Santa's! Very cute and very talented!
@BlueBay to answer your premie beanie question, I haven't got a pattern for you unfortunately but I do have some possible websites for you to check out.

www.lovecrafts.com

Aus country spinners is a wool Manafacturer of cleckheaton yarns as well as Panda yarns for example and they have free knitting patterns on the website once you sign up to receive them. Also, check out the Projects section of the Spotlight and Lincraft websites as they sometimes have knitted patterns available to instantly download. I hope this has helped you!

I finished the second section of my Mental Health Recovery Blanket this afternoon which I'm quite happy with as this is one very special blanket! See below for the photo! I hope you like my blanket!A702BF6D-607B-4623-916D-BC3DEE942955.jpeg

Keep those knitting creations coming!

Love your little Santa's @Daisydreamer

Wow @Judi9877 , looks lovely

Hello @Gwynn , @BlueBay , @Eve7

Re: Knitting

Good evening @Shaz51 @Gwynn @BlueBay @Daisydreamer @Eve7 and all knitting forumites here. I hope you are enjoying your knitting activities!

As for me, I completed my 9th Self Care Squares blanket square this morning with another one started in the same coloured yarn as I have enough of it left over to knit another square. See below for the photo! I also stopped off at Spotlight to test out a challenge my psychologist had issued me with which was to go into a store for the fun of it and actually enjoy it, shopping that is, so I did to buy more variegated yarn on special as a reason to go into the shop. Did I enjoy shopping? No. Was it fun? No. Did I get the yarn I wanted? Yes, including a ball of yarn that was further reduced so it was worthwhile in that respect. Will I do it again? Only if I absolutely have to, which right now isn't going to be for awhile since I went through some boxes I had to repack yesterday and found lots of acrylic wool which I plan on making into 'Crazy Blankets'- knitted lengths of knitting at 40 stitches wide using 4mm knitting needles and garter stitch and 1.7m long per strip to make 6 lengths of them and then see the 6 strips up to make a blanket for charity. Basically, I call them a crazy blanket because as either I get bored of knitting the yarn or the yarn runs out, I change to the next ball and then start the process again, making each blanket different and unique l and therefore special for each recipient which in this case will be an adult as that's the measurements for an adult sized blanket. A baby blanket size for the charity I knit for is 5 strips at 1.2 m long so 1m wide x 1.2m long sewn up to make the blanket. I've decided I'm going to keep a box of yarn beside my chair in the lounge room and only knit the yarn out of the box when I move to make up the strips for the Crazy Blankets when I move into my new property at the end of the month. I'm still planning on working on my Mental Health Recovery Blanket and my Self Care Squares blanket and have separate yarn for these projects but this Crazy Blankets thing is separate as it's for charity and I have pls ty of yarn to use for that! I'll keep you posted on the first Crazy Blanket I finish so you have an idea of what I mean by the term.

Re: Knitting

Hi there @Shaz51 @Gwynn @BlueBay @Daisydreamer @Eve7 @Former-Member @Former-Member @Ripples @Appleblossom and all knitters here. I hope you're having fun with your knitted creations!

Tonight, I finished off yet another beanie for charity to add to my long pile of donations which I've got to drop off soon. I think I'll get my items all packed up in a big bag and donate them after I move out of my current rental property next weekend and into the following week when I should also have a blanket ready for the charity as well (I hope!). All I know is I like knitting these beanies as the pattern is easy to remember and I find that knitting them helps me with my mental health, especially when I feel upset or triggered by something or feel like I can't cope, because I get to be creative yet practice mindfulness as well by focusing on the pattern and selecting different colours for the beanie. I also get to feel good about myself as I know that someone will receive my item that they may not have got a knitted item before and should hopefully like it as much as I have enjoyed knitting it!24FFF484-876A-4E22-AF88-4C8C5D748B0F.jpeg

Keep on enjoying your knitting and other crafty creations!
