Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Back to walking on the beach most days of the week including long trips (for me) of 1.5 hours total walking to and from appointments etc. I go at a slow pace due to having to push through pain in lower legs and feet. But pleased to be back out there regularly, continuing to slowly stretch the boundaries on distance covered.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

My lovely partner and I are walking between 4 - 10 kms a day at the moment...

She walks faster than me, even though I've got longer legs. My hypermobility limits me - move too quick and I will sprain or strain something...

I did 100 pushups yesterday... yay me! Today, my man boobies are sore... 🙂

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

I am so thrilled to see this thread has continued... 🙂 started it in a hypo-must-get-slim-and-fit moment - and then fell off the planet... 🙂

I am still walking most days and some days all he running around I do for my Mum (helping her dress, or shower, or doing her shopping etc - means I am more active anyways.)

Keep on keeping on loveley people! My tribe!

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hello @MoonGal, it is great to see you Heart

saw my kidney specialist last week  and he said to do more gentle exercise , not too much hard exercises has it affects my muscles

and no I have a dietician as well , so i am trying to develop a new routine

Hi @Silenus, @Mazarita, @Appleblossom, @Former-Member

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Shaz51- likewise, thanks for the hello. Glad to hear you are making a plan and going gentley bentley. Love to hear about the new routine when you have it in place and hear about what works for you.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi all,

@Shaz51, do you have any ideas on the gentle exercise you might do?

@MoonGal, great that you are still walking. The extra exercise in being a carer for your mum definitely counts.

@Silenus, 4-10kms walking, awesome. Do you do the lot in bare feet? 100 pushups, wow.

Due to start the first of six sessions of hydrotherapy next week. It's in a very small class with a physiotherapist. Happy with this addition to things as I can't keep pushing beyond the exercise I already do on my feet due to pain. I'd like to keep getting fitter so doing exercise in the water seems like a way to go.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

how are you @MoonGal

I have been busy, sometimes too much , How about you

take care of yourself Heart

Next week have to have some blood tests to see how everything is and then another appointment to see what i need to do next

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hello @Mazarita

The dietician thinks walking will be the best so far ,

I have been doing small weights, and some strenght exercises but I end up with very sore muscles

so the doctor thought swimming will be good too

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @Mazarita - wow... hydrotherapy is meant to be great for slow steady gentle strengthening. I hope you enjoy it.

Regarding the walking - yes, always barefoot everywhere I go. Except for airports, restaurants and bars/pubs... people force me to wear shoes there. But as soon as my feet are out of view, off come the shoes again... hahaha...

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi everyone

How do you set a goal and actually stick with it?  At the moment I can't even set a goal. I know I should be walking daily but do you think I can actually do it? NO.  I am struggling with motivation, setting goals for anything including exercise.

And then i get really angry and frustrated with myself for not doing anything - i'm going round in circles.
