Hi & Welcome @Purpledepressiv
It can be tricky working it all out - I get it!
If you say choose the lived experience section, scroll down to all the different 'forum topics' eg - Welcome & Getting started, Our Stories etc - choose a topic which your post suits & select.
It will then give you an option - which looks like a green speech bubble, button in top right corner of the topic page for a "New Discussion".
Select that & then will give you a page to start wriing a new post.
Let me know if that doesn't help/make sense.

Hope you are finding some distractions helpful @Former-Member I love reading everyones comments and suggestions.
@Zoe7 having fur babies must be such a blessing, I've often thought about getting a dog (we had one growing up) but I sometimes do not feel like I can look after myself so shouldn't get something I need to be responsible for. But I love dogs so much that one day in the future hopefully.
@Judi9877 I love how crafty you are with your knitting, cross stitch and crochet. And what a lovely gesture to give the beanies to charity, I am sure there are some very very grateful people.
@Clawde @Eve7 @Owen45 @Former-Member @Purpledepressiv
I love reading all your comments, thank you.

Fur babies are the best @LookingHopeful 🐶😺 I have a dog who thinks he is a cat and a cat who thinks she is a dog ...so cute together 💖
One of the things that kept me going when I was at my worst was my fur babies - I couldn't look after myself very well but could look after them. I had to get up each day to feed them and let them out etc. It is amazing what you can do for those you love even though you yourself do not want to be alive - so they saved me (a few times).
I hope you can get a dog for yourself - they are such wonderful company and you feel their unconditional love every moment of every day.

What beautiful words @Zoe7 , it really made me see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel ❤️
So cute about your cat-dog and your dog-cat hehe, I like the idea that a pet is a constant sorce of entertainment just watching them explore and play. Also the unconditional love pulls at my heart. I would love the company while I am watching tv on the couch.
Have you ever seen the show The Dog House on tv? Each time I watch it I always end up (happy) crying for one reason or another because the stories are all just so beautiful. (Except if I am really not doing well mentally I can't watch it because I need something a lot more light-hearted or easy comedy because then I get far too emotional).
I love how much animals can lift our souls, it really is so beautiful. I even have a friend who has bunnies as her fur babies ❤️

Oh I want a bunny but I don't think Toby would like that. I am also not home enough when I am working so it would be harder to look after @LookingHopeful
I love The Dog House but do get sad when dogs are given back Then again ...every adoption that succeeds warms your heart
I have a constant companion with my dog - he follows me everywhere, comes on trips with me and is generally my little shadow. I love the holidays because I am with him all the time - and he loves it too. He is presently asleep on his doona on the couch next to me. Clover (my cat) is gorgeous. She turns one tomorrow so going to have a little 'family' party. She also follows both of us (Toby and I) everywhere. She also makes me laugh as she pounces on Toby from nowhere and then runs away ...he chases her. Yesterday we were outside, Tobes was sitting on the grass and Clover come running from inside the house and flew into him ...it was so funny - they do love each other.
