I'm trying to change to brown rice and wholemeal pasta @Shaz51 but I miss fresh pasta. I was told Basmati rice has a lower GI than other white rice so I might be able to have it sometimes.

Basmati rice is good , suppose yo keep you full for longer
You are allowed to have pasta but to have small amounts and to include vegetables
Brown rice and wholemeal pasta takes longer to cook

It wouldn't be easy @Shaz51. I'm relieved my bloods were just prediabetic so I've not had to start testing myself. I'm trying to follow guidelines though, so I'll try prepping portion sizes for the day ahead... following up your tip @SmilingGecko! I check in again with the dietician and the Diabetes Vic Life! coach next week.
