That's a LOT @Judi9877 . I hope you're pacing yourself.
Condolences on the loss of Mitz. I know she hadn't been well but it's a sad loss for you.

I've been struggling lately. Today I put out my and the neighbours' bins, raked the driveway, and did a spot of weeding. Emailed a couple of politicians. Asked for my record of baptism but I'm not sure if the name of the church is a false memory - I have a hazy recollection of my father's old friend telling me but I had to dig deep. Couldn't face cooking.

Yesterday I went out by myself (I almost never go out except for shopping). Today I did chores both inside and outside. Small steps towards getting back on track. Tomorrow hopefully I'll begin again.

Heads up- a bit of a ramble ahead as Iāve been stressed and not in a great mental state lately!
The past few days have been hectic and stressful for me - more like the past 6 weeks since the 8/10- as Iāve had to look for a new rental property since my nasty landlord decided he wanted the property back so he could move in and my housemate and I had to be out by the 2/12. Anyway, Iām now very pleased to announce that we have secured a new rental property as of tonight - landlord and real estate property manager signed the lease and we have paid all the money as of tonight. My housemate chose to help me out with the driving and fuel costs and decided to pre apply for several properties as we looking in an area 45 minutes away from our current place in regional Victoria as the places were cheaper than in our current location. Long story short- we got a phone call on Monday afternoon from a real estate company saying that a landlord was considering our application but wanted us to go and check out the property as soon as possible with us being already approved for the property. We did this yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) and liked it so we agreed to take the property. The lease was signed today with both the bond and 4 weeks rent being paid so we now have a new place to call home. The only problem is the property isnāt available until 7/12 so we are now getting the legal team that my housemate employed to help us deal with the current property manager that our nasty landlord employed to get our current place extended til the 12/12. We still have to arrange removalists - getting partly paid for by some housing charities that weāve been able to access- but I know this current property manager is going to be trouble as she did an inspection on our rental on 21/10 and said so many nasty things that my housemate ended up on the phone to me in tears (she was home for the 9am inspection and the property manager was a nasty piece of work with her colleague that also came to the inspection- it was meant to be for her to check out any maintenance that needed to be done but turned out to be a house inspection with her trying to breach us for not having a tidy house despite us already starting to pack up the place and boxes everywhere). As it is, she told my housemate that she was going to give us a bad reference because of the state of the house and for us to āemploy the services of a disability and housing worker as we would struggle to get a rental propertyā - little did she know! Our current place is full of mould which technically means the place can be deemed as inhabitable under the rental laws in Victoria which she knew about on the inspection but has failed to do anything about and she technically should have arranged for the landlord to give us new accommodation until the mould was rectified which means sheās now going to be in major trouble along with the landlord as both my housemate and I believe we have developed a mould illness - soon to get tested for this - so letās just say things are going to get very interesting when we do leave the property and could prove to be a very expensive lesson for both the property manager and the landlord in the form of compensation. Add to the mess of the 6 weeks without a shower in January and February due to the landlord doing renovations and not paying us compensation for this and then having the shower flood constantly until June when I discovered how to fix it (took out the drain cover ) but the property manager believes the shower is still flooding (I put drain cover back in before the inspection and made it flood the morning before she came out) with us losing at least 100 towels due to having to constantly mop up the water each time we had a shower for that period - we didnāt tell the landlord as we were too scared of being evicted at the time so we dealt with it the best we could until I found the miracle solution. He did try to evict us in June but it was rejected by VCAT as he had the wrong information in the legal notice - the legal team told us this recently when they investigated the current notice to vacate by him - and he only employed a real estate company in September because of this failure on his behalf. Add to the fact that the property manager announced to my housemate that sheās going to lodge a request for a possession order on the 2/12 as she believed that wouldnāt be out of the property by then because we wouldnāt be able to secure a new property. Sheās also announced that the landlord wants to install solar panels on the roof as part of maintenance as soon as possible however, legally, this is regarded as renovations and not maintenance as they currently donāt exist on the property. Again, not going to happen unless she takes to VCAT to get it to happen. As it is, we got the new property without listing her as a reference and we donāt plan on telling her where we are moving to in case she tries to sabotage our new rental which she is definitely capable of doing. Again, this is going to be dealt with by the legal team of my housemate and go from there with her to limit the conversations to us and only go via the legal team on our behalf because of her bad behaviour towards my housemate.
Once again, Iām sorry for the ramble tonight. Iām just so happy that I have secured a new property as I really thought Iād be facing homelessness and not having a place to celebrate Christmas which was a very scary thought. My housemate and Iāve been through so much lately with us having to put down Mitz - my cat- due to diabetes complications in September when we were in Sydney before going on our cruise holiday (we had to put her down the day before we were due to sail and we werenāt there to say goodbye to her which was really distressing and hard for both of us). We had been dealing with her diabetes treatment for at least 6 weeks prior in mid August at a cost of at least $8000 in vet fees and treatments before she finally had to be put down so this was hard for us to deal with. Add to Melbourne Storm losing the NRL grand final and my housemate spending 6 out of 9 days on the cruise holiday suffering from seasickness, you can say weāve had our fair share of bad news to face. At least my Brisbane Lions won the AFL Grand Final - I missed watching this on the ship as it was a rough day at sea full of bad weather and having to help my housemate with her seasickness on the day! - and I had a great cruise with another one booked for June next year (a 10 day cruise to Port Douglas instead of the 9 day one we had in September/ October).
Time to go and relax with some Gossip Girl on the 9Now app - currently up to season 3 out of 6 seasons. Thanks for reading this!
Keep those daily achievements happening. Remember- just waking up each day is a massive achievement and one to be celebrated!
Take care and stay safe!
