Gosh @Mustang67 its a wonder they dont do a follow up, guess its been forgotten.
Anyway nice to see a couple people from Adelaide . I lived there for like 20 years, was born in SA, lived in country town. started going interstate for work like nearly 20 years ago now and ended up staying in WA prob half of that time. Back in SA now, in semi-retirement atm, well barely worked in last 3 years now, body not up to it. got a house in small country town with inheritance. in ideal world would be closer to beach and closer to Adelaide, but its not paying rent or mortgage , so thats something. @MJG017 @saturnzoon is from adel, not seen them for a while and was another person years ago,but lost track.

@Mustang67 wrote:my Dad was in the paper over probably 50 years ago and the heading was "Why the City Bus Ran Late".
He was sitting at the beginning of his run in a side street off Anzac Highway when he heard a woman screaming. He ran to her to see what was wrong and when he entered her back yard, he saw a toddler floating in the pool. He immediately jumped in and pulled the toddler out and commenced to give him mouth to mouth. He was able to bring the toddler back to life. And then he went on with his bus run as normal, but obviously now running late.
@Mustang67 Wow! What an amazing story! As @TAB suggested, a followup would be incredible. I wonder where that toddler is now and what they've done with their life. They'd be slightly younger than me. Knowing how small Adelaide can be, they probably live just around the corner! 😀
Do you know the exact date? It would be incredible to track down a copy of the article.

@MJG017 @TAB No I don't know the date, but mum has the article in a photo album in the rumpus room. But since my mum is a hoarder, you can't access the bookcase it was stored in. He did this before he married my mum, so it would have been before 1979. I did ask Dad if he wonders whatever happened to him and he did. But he didn't get any information from the lady and had no idea how to find out.

@TAB @Mustang67 Yeah, you'd think the library would have it on microfiche for copies that age.

@Glisten it sure was. How can you compete with that. And when we would talk about it with him, he didn't like a fuss to be made about it. He was very humble about it.

@TAB @Mustang67 There's an Adelaide Memories facebook group that I look at... lots of old Adelaide photos and memories... like the King Neptune statue at Darlington for example. I wonder if a post there might uncover who this toddler was??
